Quality Time Alone

After the four of us got back to Pademe's apartment Obi-wan and I decided to go to the council and speak to them about all that has happened. I stand slightly behind Obi-wan and listen to him recount everything that has happened.

"Very good, Master Kenobi. You've seemed to handle this well." Master Windu says.

"Master Curchit, you have been quiet. Is there something troubling you?" Master Khadi Mundi says. I look up from my spot. I had been staring off while looking at the floor.

"Huh? Oh. No master." I say and I feel all of the masters look at me as I did my eyes to the ground once again.

"Listening to the council not good it is." Master Yoda says and I sigh.

"Fine. If you really want to know." I say and I look at him dead in the eye. "I think that Anakin and Reese should take the senator to her home and guard her. Also I think that you should,send Obi-Wan and I to go chase this lead. Both of the padawan's are too inexperienced to know how to properly handle this, and young Reese just left the academy." I reply.

"Hmmm." Master Yoda says and Master Windu looks flabbergasted.

"Master Curchit, I do believe that you are overstepping your bounds." Master Windu warns and I shrug.

"Master Mundi asked me what was on my mind and so I told you. You can't really blame me now can you?" I ask with a smirk. I've never been afraid of the council, and i've never really cared for master Windu. Something about him just ticks me off. Master Yoda's chuckling brings me out of my internal monolog and I look at him.

"A point master Circuit has. Too inexperienced are the boys for a mission like this. Wise enough is Obi-wan and Vanna for this. Agree with her I do." He says as he looks at Master Windu. "And ask her, we did to speak her mind."

"She does have a point. They have both been on many missions like this before." Master Ayla Secura says.

"They've never failed before either." Master Shaak Ti adds. Many of the other council members agree before Master Yoda nods.

"Very well. Go will Master Kenobi and Master Circuit to track down this assassin. But careful you must be. A repeat of before we do not want." Master Yoda says looking at me and I nod. We then turn and leave. On our way out of the building, Obi-Wan contacts Anakin and tells him the plan. I watch him curiously as he does. There seems to be an excitement behind his eyes. He looks like he did when we first got married. A little gitty padawan. He grabs me gently by the wrist and leads me to his speeder.

"Where are we going?" I ask while giggling slightly.

"To my flat. None of us leave until tomorrow anyway." He says and I smile. I climb into the speeder and he jumps in and flies us to his flat. We get to his flat and he helps me out of his speeder.

We walk in and he pulls me to his couch and we sit. I lay my head on his chest listening to his heart beating. He wraps his arms around me and he kisses my head.

"I've missed you, Vanna." He says softly and I smile.

"I've missed you too. So much." I say as I snuggle closer to my husband. It feels really strange calling him that after so long. I sit up and look at him.

"What?" He says and I kiss him. He immediately kisses me back as he moves his hands to my hair. We make out like a couple of lovesick teenagers.

After a minute we pull away when air becomes necessary. He plays with the ends of my hair as he pants. I smile and we stare into each other's eyes.

"We should go out for dinner," Obi-wan says and I smile.

"Forever the hopeless romantic," I say and he smiles and then kisses me again.
