Chapter 1

Sara's POV

I woke up to a loud sound that sounded to weird to be real. I shot up out of my bed, scared but a little curious. I looked around the room noticing large dark blood stains covering the carpet and my mirror shattered into a million pieces. The sight made my mind spin. How did this happen? What did happen? Slowly I got myself out of bed. "OW!" I screamed. Unfortunately I didn't notice the sharp pieces of glass under my feet. Pain shot through my whole body. I bounced back on my bed clutching onto my wounded foot. "Come on Sara get it together. It's only a little glass." Once again I got myself out of bed. This time more successfully. As I reached the hallway my heart stopped. My mom was dead. Blood covered her body and her neck looked like someone bit it. The wound was oozing puss and some other nasty things that dripped down my moms neck too. This was to much. I collapsed onto the ground and balled my eyes out. Why?! Why her?! I clasped the back of her head and pulled her up. "Mom... I-I will miss you. One day I meet you there, in heaven... I promise." Carefully I set her bloody head back onto the floor letting my tears fall onto her face. Hesitantly I got up to go downstairs to call for help, but someone, no something stopped me. It let out mouns as it dragged its lifeless rotting body towards me. "Please don't hurt me. My name is Sara, if you need help I will help you... O-okay?" But no. My words didn't work. They meant nothing to this, this... Monster. Then it hit me. It was a zombie! Like in the horror movies! Quickly I ran downstairs and out the door. Bad idea. Not just one but tons and tons of zombies flooded the abandoned street mouning nonstop as they dragged their body's to no certain place. Some were feeding off of human flesh. I turned to my left and saw this happening to my now dead friend Kaylie. Her guts were spread across the grass, crushed with blood squirting on random sides. The zombies shoved their faces into them with pleasure. Crunch, crunch, crunch was all I heard. They chewed and chewed the guts grinding them into tiny pieces to swallow. Some of it slide onto theirs faces dripping onto the bloody ground. Then one zombie ripped Kaylie in half her body now in two. Now I was crying ever harder. This made the zombies turn towards me. "Shit." I said to myself. All I could do now was run. Run as far away as possible. Which is what I did. I dodged the grasp of zombies by an inch and finally made it into the woods. My heart was racing, beads of sweat trickled down my face. I couldn't believe what happened. This was all unnatural. I've heard of it it before. And I had to face the tragic truth.

It's the start of the zombie apocalypse.
