Taylor's pov
As I pack up my stuff to leave my eighth period class, I can see Elya out of the corner of my eye, approach me. "Hey." She says.
"Hey, what's up? You feelin' better?" I replied. She stood there for a moment without speaking. She looked away from me and down to her feet. After a few seconds she looked back up at me.
"Yeah, I'm doing fine. And um...I'm sorry for walking out on you at lunch today." She apologized.
I gave her a smile. "Eh, it's alright. You weren't feeling good. I mean, I wouldn't be feeling good at all either if some dumb ass coach made me run twelve laps around the track, non stop." I said with a reassuring smile.
"Yeah, thanks. And I believe I owe you a talk young lady." Elya said with a wink.
I stood there trying to figure out what she was talking about. Oh, yeah, that's right. We didn't get to talk about Kacine. "Oh, yeah. Definitely." I said as we walked out of the classroom, down the hallway and out to the student parking lot.
I grabbed my keys and unlocked my car. I slipped into the driver's seat and Elya sat in the passenger seat. "Alright, first things first." She began. "Talk to her." She said, flatly.
I snickered at Elya. Is she serious right now? She wants me to talk to Kacine? Especially knowing how stupid I'll suddenly act when I first see her. "Haha, yeah and I'm straight." I said, jokingly.
She sighed. "I'm serious, Taylor. You're going to have to at least talk to her in order for you and her to get to know each other. And you never know, she may end up falling for you if you just try." She explained.
I sat there looking straight up ahead at the almost empty parking lot, without a word. I honestly have no idea how I'm supposed to talk to her and not get nervous. Yes, we've talked before, but it was really never a real conversation. "I can't." I tell her and sighed.
She raised an eyebrow. "Come on, stop being a coward and get ya arse up and talk to the girl!" She yells. "You make it harder than it needs to be." She said in a lower tone of voice.
I understood what she said loud and clear. I was making it more complicated. I talk to different beautiful girls all the time. I mean, sure the majority of them rejected me and but for some reason Kacine just seemed different from all the others. "So, what do you say? We go back inside and you try and actually talk to her?" She asked.
I was puzzled by the question for a second. "Can I try talking to her tomorrow? Incase you forgot, it's the end of the day and she's probably home right now." I stated.
She looks at me with both eyebrows raised this time and lets out a small chuckle. "Well, incase you forgot, Kacine is a cheerleader and today is the day they have cheerleading practice." Shit, how the fuck do you forget your number crush is a hot ass cheerleader? I thought. Elya takes her phone out and shows it to me. "Ya see that? It's 3:30pm. Practice doesn't start till 4:00pm. So, how about we kill them some time to spare. I'll distract her friend Samantha if she's there, so you and Kacine could have some alone time to talk. See easy as pie." She stated.
She had a good point. I really was eager to talk to her and also to get to know her more. You know what? What the hell. "Okay. Lets do it." I said, breathlessly.
Elya smiled. "That's my girl." She laughed while putting her bookbag in the backseat. As she was getting out of my car, I did the same with my bookbag and got out the car locking it.

Elya and I walked outside to the football field where the cheerleaders usually practiced at. I had a feeling she might be there so I wanted to check there first. And guess what? I was right. She was sitting on the bleachers by herself with her friend Samantha. I took a deep breath. I was so nervous, but at the same time excited to start a conversation up with her. We walked onto the stairs with Elya leading in front of me towards the two.
As we came to a stop in front of them I instantly felt like I was gonna faint. Kacine was drop dead gorgeous. "Hello, ladies." Elya greeted, with a smile.
They both returned the smile back to Elya. "Hey." They both said in unison.
Elya nudged me in my side. I looked her way and she wiggled her eyebrows at me. I guess she wanted me to make the first move. I took another deep breath. "Um...uh...hi." I smiled at Kacine. She smiled back at me!! Oh my Gosh, she had a beautiful smile. "So...I was wondering, K-K-Kacine, if we c-c-could talk for a b-bit?" I asked stuttering my question. Damn, I feel retarded as fuck. I thought. I mentally slapped myself for embarrassment.
Kacine smiled up at me. "Yeah, sure." she said while getting up from her seat and making her way towards the steps of the bleachers. I looked at Elya. She gave me wink. "Are you coming or are you just going to let me talk to the boogy man?" She asked me with a smirk. Damn, I think I just skipped a whole lot of beats in my chest.
She walked down the stares and I came jogging right up behind her. She walked inside of the school and stopped by the lockers leaning against them. "So, what'd you want to talk about?" She asked me.
I shrugged. "To be honest...I don't really know. I didn't actually think a girl like you would actually talk to someone like me." I said truthfully.
I could've sworn Kacine was now blushing because her cheeks were now turning red. Whoa, wait a minute. Did I just I make the most beautiful girl in the world blush? I thought. "Well, I'm here and I'm actually talking to you." She let out a light chuckle. Oh, Jesus. Her laugh was so cute.
Now it was my turn for my face to turn red. I looked at the ground shyly. "Well, yeah. I just never knew I was allowed to request a nice and simple conversation with you." I joked, but at the same time it was kind of true.
She laughed again. "Who said you had to request when I came up to you first in homeroom asking for your help? Oh, and speaking of homeroom, thanks again for the notes. It really helped me." She thanked, with a smile. I guess I really didn't think about this morning. I totally forgot that I helped her with a math problem.
"Ah, no problem. The pleasure was all mine." I said smiling from ear to ear.
Even though our conversation started off a little corny, it did pick up a little. I got to find out a lot of stuff about her. Like her favorite color, animal, movie, where she was born, and how she started cheerleading and much more. Eventually we had to stop talking 'cause she had to go start cheerleading practice. We only talked for thirty minutes, but it seemed like hours. I guess that's how you feel when you talk to someone you like so much. And now that I've gotten to know her a little more, my crush on her got even bigger. "Come on, Kacine. The team's waiting for you." Samantha said while leaving back out the building.
Kacine sighed heavily. "Well, I guess I got to go now before she has a bitch fit." She said rolling her eyes playfully, with a smile.
"Yeah, well it was nice talking to you." I said with a smile.
"You, too." With that said she took off walking towards the door. She then stopped in her tracks and turned around walking back towards me. "Hey, do you think I could have your phone number by any chance?" She asked me.
When she asked me that, my eyes suddenly widened. Holy, shit. Did the Kacine Leonardo just asked me for my phone number?! "Uh...um...s-s-sure." I stuttered, again. Damn, I'm officially retarded in the head.
"Cool. Let me see your phone." She said putting her hand out towards me. I pull my phone out of my back pocket and hand it to her. She puts her number in and hands it back to me. "There you go. All set. Don't hesitate to shoot me a text." She said with a wink.
I think my heart just melted. "I won't." I said shyly, also blushing. She flashed me a smile and took off running towards the football field.
When she was out of sight, I layed back against the lockers. Slid down and tilted my head back with my eyes closed. A couple of seconds later, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I opened my eyes to see a grinning Elya. "See what happens when you talk? Now tell me it was worth it." She says with a chuckle.
I closed my eyes once again, smiling like an idiot. "Definitely."
