It's June 15, 2013 and I'm driving to my cousin's house. My uncle opens the window and hot air blasts me in the face. I peer intently out the window at the gigantic windmills turning in the wind.
" How long till we get to your house," I ask my cousin, Ben.
He glances at his watch and shrugs
"An hour at the most," he replies, clearly bored.
I try to break the deafening silence, " So how's your airsoft gun working?", I ask. I know I've succeeded when his face lightens up.
"Great! I got a new machine pistol. Can't wait to use it," he says, his tone enlightened. As we continue in conversation I see my uncle smile. I can't help but smile too. It's going to be a great week!
As we arrive, and exit the car I groan as I sit up. My back is sore as heck. The car back doors open up to reveal my bags. I quickly jump and grab the bags, stuffed with miscellaneous airsoft supplies. I grunt at the heaviness at the bags. I feel beads of sweat run down my face. I force open the door and cool air greets me. The bags tumble to the ground, and I slide to the ground. I watch as my cousins Sam, Anna, and Matthew run and hug me. I smile, "Long time, no see," I say, grinning at them.
"Ready for tomorrow," my cousin Sam asks?
"Ready as I'll ever be," I reply.
He runs to help me with my bags, and we make our way up the stairs to his room. We both enter the room and he sets my bags down. He shows me all of his new movies that we plan to watch. But before we can do anything we dart downstairs, run out of the door, and leap into their pool. The refreshing coolness washes over me, I savor it, playing football in the clear waters untill sundown.
