I splashed through the puddles on the sidewalk, I walked past Granny's Diner and Ruby was standing outside.
"Hey Juliet!" She said with a smile.
"Hey Ruby!" I replied, I'm Juliet, Ruby is like an older sister to me. I moved here a couple months ago and she always made me feel welcome. I'm kind of well known around here since I've become really good friends with Henry.
"So how was school today?" She asked leaning on the side of the green picket fence.
"It was great! I beat everyone on the obstacle course, by 5 whole minutes!" I said excitedly
"Wow," she said " you're really getting good at that! Why don't you come in for a cookie?"
"Sure!" I exclaimed
I walked in to the diner and saw Emma sitting there with Henry and Mary Margret.
"Hey Henry!" I said as they walked past the table with Ruby. He waved and smiled. Ruby sat me down at the counter and went to the back to get my snicker doodle cookie. I reached into my red canvas backpack and pulled out my math folder.
"Here you are," Ruby said as she handed me the cookie.
"Thanks!" I replied. I gobbled up my cookie and saw that Henry had moved beside me with his book. It was gorgeous, it was engraved with Gold and was covered in brown leather.
"So, what's that book?" I asked curiously
"Well, it's a fairytale book." He said
"Cool, can I see it." I inquired
"Sure." I picked it up and opened it to the table of contents.
I dragged my finger down the list and I found my favorite fairytale.
Little Red Riding Hood
I flipped to page 28.
"So you like little red riding hood?" He smirked.
"Yeah, I know it's stupid." I said
"No, no it's not, but look a little closer at Red, does she look familiar?"
I looked a little closer and then I realized, she does look familiar.
"She is a spitting image of Ruby." I exclaimed.
"Thats the thing, Emma doesn't believe me, everyone in this town is a fairytale character and if they leave something bad will happen to them. Ruby is little red riding hood, David is Prince Charming, Mary Margaret is Snow White, my mom is well, the Evil Queen, etc." He explained the rest.
"Wow, your right, but then who am I?" I asked
"Well they didn't mention in the regular fairytale but little red riding hood had a little sister her name was Juliet. I guess your name didn't change." He said
"Wow, But then why did I just move here?" I asked
"Well, every since Emma came back, the curse has been starting to loosen up, everyone is coming back if they were ever anywhere else, but no one remembers their fairytale past." He said
"It kind of makes sense, hold on for a sec."
I walked over to Mary-Margret
"So how long have you lived her Mrs. Blanchard?" I asked
"Well, as long as I can remember, I guess, why do you ask?"
"Just curious." I said, I ran over to Henry.
"Your totally right!" I whispered
"I know, and Emma is the savior and she will break the curse and everyone will remember who they are." He whispered, "Wait, meet me at the beach in, like, 30 minutes."
"O-ok I'll meet you then." I said, surprised. He ran out, I reached for my cookie and realized I had eaten it, so I pushed the plate aside and opened my folder. "Ugh, algebra." I groaned, about 20 minutes passed by while I tried to tackle my algebra, I heard a cheerful ring, Henry walked in.
"Juliet?" He walked up to me.
"Let's go Emma's gonna be there soon!" He said frantically
"Ok, ok," I said, "see ya Ruby!"
"Bye, Juliet" she said from the kitchen.
We walked down the street to the beach. I gasped he did to we couldn't belive what we were seeing.
