Why can't we find any food, we've looked everywhere...I thought on that dark night. Our families were born poor, so going around our town looking for food was normal for me and my best friends. Rose, Crystal and I have been together all our lives, through thick and thin.
We were scavenging the streets for food when she first appeared to us. She appeared as if out of a mist, one second I was looking at an empty street corner, the next a hunched figure with a walking stick was there. I continued to stare at the figure, even as Rose and Crystal still searched for food.
I turned back to the task at hand, not knowing that the lone figure on the dark corner would forever change my life in a way that I could never have imagined. Not only for me but for my friends too.
