“ABBY!!” Logan called. He would not give up searching. Logan was 14, about 5”4 with brown hair, blue eyes, and he weighed about 120 lbs. He had known Abby for about 3 years now. Recently, about 4 days ago, Abby had gone missing.

Logan and Abby have been homeless for 3 years, since they had both ran away. They met, by luck it seems on the first day of leaving home. Logan had left because he was so embarrassed of his ability. Abby had also left because she felt like an outcast. Logan's abillity was insanely rapid regeneration of his body. He could get stabbed in the chest and 45 seconds later, he is fine.

“ABBY!” Logan yelled, “I think its time to find a place to sleep” he muttered to himself. Its not too hard to find a place to in the streets of New York. He settled in a dark alley way and drifted to sleep, behind the garbage can.

BANG! The garbage can shuttered as someone yelled, “oh no, we got another one”

“Uuuhhh” said Logan still just waking up.

“Get out hur!” said a big country looking man. He looked about 7 feet tall and muscular. “Come on now, get movin’,” yelled the man in a gruff voice.

Logan grabbed everything he had, his backpack, and crawled out of the alley way into the bright sun. He was almost out of food from his pack, all he had left was a warm water bottle and a candy bar. He took a sip of water, and put in back in his backpack. They had just entered New York City when Abby disappeared, and he had not left since then. Well, time to go look for someplace to scrounge for food.

Abby woke up, and immediately jumped to her feet. It was pitch black in the room. That was okay though, her ability was she had almost like super powers in the dark. She was that there was one door in the room locked and bolted most likely. There was also a table and a chair right next to her, in the center. There were no lights or light switches in the room either. “Alright,” Abby said out loud to herself, “let’s think this though.”

Just then the door opened, and in walked a tall man, about 7 foot, and muscular. He pulled out a remote and pressed the button on it. The whole room lit up, like there were powerful lights behind the walls.

“Well well well, what do we have hur.” said the huge man.

“Who are you?” yelled Abby, “why did you take me?”

“My name is Charles, and I have heard you have some, uh, interesting talents.” said Charles. Would you mind telling me them, or do I have to make you?” he growled.

“Well, its hard to explain, but I am, I guess, as you would say, talented, while in the dark,” Abby said. “I can move faster, I am stronger, I think faster, and if I concentrate hard enough, go invisible.” What Abby didn’t say is that she can also read peoples thoughts and has x-ray vision, to an extent, in the dark.

“Impressive,” said Charles.

“I told you my talent, now you tell me yours, assuming you have one.” smirked Abby.

“That seems fair.” grumbled Charles. “My ability is I liquify myself into a dangerous goo, but don’t laugh, I could easily kill you.”

“Yea, really scary goo,” laughed Abby, “you might get my clothes dirty”

“I planned to kill you anyway, but I guess now I have an excuse.”

Suddenly, he turned to a black goo that instantly melted straight though his chair.

“Ewww,” moaned Abby. She jumped back before the liquidized form of Charles touched her. Charles had left the remote on the table! She had to get to in before he realized his mistake. She lept as far as she could onto the table and grabbed the remote. She pressed the button. Charles unmorphed, back into human. Abby concentrated hard.

“Come on, come on,” Abby said desperately. She turned invisible, and so did the remote. With her x-ray vision she could see the mechanics in the door. It had one weak spot and if she slammed hard enough she could open the door. She became visible so that she could run through the door. Charles was looking the other way, now is her chance! With a mighty yell she focused all her energy on going straight through that door. BAM!! She broke though it.

Logan was running from an Italian man while laughing, because he had ordered a pizza and then ran off without paying. The Italian man gave up and threw some bread at him. Which Logan happily took and put in his pack. He was going to go check to alleys and see if Abby and hid in one. When the wall next to him exploded and Abby fell out!

“Hghghghg, light,” mumbled Abby.

“ABBY, I FOUND YOU!” yelled Logan.

“I think its more like I found you,” she said as she grinned.

“GET BACK HUR!” screamed Charles.

“Run, now!” exclaimed Abby.

They ran, fast. “over here!” called Logan.

They ran into the nearest alley, and hid behind the dumpster. Charles ran by without noticing them.

“That was a close one,” muttered Abby.

“No kidding,” said Logan, “where are we going now?”

“Let’s find a place to stay for the night, Logan” Abby said sleepily.

They decided to sleep in the park under a tree. Logan pretended he was asleep while Abby was sleep talking.

“If the government wants to take me then why don’t they, huh Charles?” She muttered as she was still sleeping, “they are coming for me now?! Do they know about Logan yet? Oh, thats good, I guess I will try to ditch him while he sleeps.” She woke up then and whispered “Logan?”

Logan did not respond.

“Logan?” she whispered again.

She started to pack up, then walked away.

Logan let a tear slip out of his eye as he tried to fall asleep.
