I stood in line with dozens and dozens of other girls, waiting to audition into Dream Academy. I was so nervous, this was my chance to find my parents! If I played my cards right. That is, my Aikatsu cards.

"Next!" called someone from inside the room

"Right!" I walked in an closed the door behind me. Three teachers sat behind a fold up table with check boards at the ready.

"Hello," said a lady with hoop earrings "What may your name be?"

I smile, she seems nice. "Kalani Polu!" I tell her

"Leilani?" she says

"N-no, Kalani," I correct her

"Well, Kalani," says a plump man with a beard and ponytail. "Have you ever participated in Aikatsu or idol activity like work?"

"Um ... I play guitar," I tell him

"That's nice," he says kindly before writing something down on his check board.

"Have you ever performed in front of anyone?" Another man with sunglasses asks

"No sir," I say

"Okay, could you perform for us now?" he asks

"Like ... right now, now?"

"Yes now,"

"Um ... o-okay," 'm totally unprepared! What do I do? What do I sing? Uh ... uh ...

Um ... Kanaemashou ... kimi to ... Uh, I mean. Kono Yume wa - wo.

Kanaemashou kono - uh ... - kimi to fly high

I start dancing for no reason. Why am I dancing? There's no music! These aren't even my best moves!

"Kalani, sweetheart," said the lady "We're sorry but ... we don't think you can handle Aikatsu,"

"You just need some more time out there," said the glasses man

"Come back when you're ready," the plump man added

"Okay ... thank you for your time," I left, fighting back my tears. I'll never find my parents now
