...

I turned up the volume on my phone, the music playing becoming louder.

The voices of the students were drowned out of my head.

My feet quickly shuffled to an old, wooden bench. I would always sit there before school.

"Did you finish your science homework? Mrs. Calbury didn't give me a copy." a voice leaked out into my brain.

I looked up from the ground to see my best friend, c/n. I took off my headphones as he took a seat next to me.

"You're lucky I do my work, dude." I scoffed and pulled out my homework, followed by him thanking me and him copying my answers down but changing them slightly.

"You got any hot people on your list to hit on?" I joked, picking at a rotting piece of wood. He just laughed briefly and continued to copy my answers.

"Nah. My summer was just filled with me sleeping." he said. He handed back my homework and I nodded, putting it away and just talking to him about random stuff.

I took out my new notebook that I bought over break, scribbling the world 'arachnophobia' at the top and writing a description of it, then making a small doodle.

"What's that for?" he asked, resting his chin on my shoulder. My cheeks reddened, but I tried to hide it.

"It's for Mr. Sanders' class. We have to do a project on something people fear. I decided to make a notebook of fears." I shrugged, my cheeks cooling down a little bit.

From then on, we just talked and laughed until the bell rang.

The good ol' times were starting to come back. I couldn't tell him though...
