It was really happening; the end was near. Were Simon and Baz meant to survive? All these questions were swimming around in Cath's head. She didn't even realise Levi still sat behind her; his heart racing as she turned the page.

"Do you think they'll survive Cath?"

"Shhh" she tells him.

He squeezes her tight around the stomach, probably from the nerves. Cath looks at the page, knowing it's not going to be a happy ending...

"Simon spat spells in to the air, trying to kill the merwolf coming his way. Suddenly, he fell and the merwolf advanced on him; dragging his soggy fins behind him. His cloak was wedged between two rocks. "BAZ!" Simon screamed, Baz looked round, their final glance before the merwolf completed his task."

Cath snapped the book shut. Tears falling instantly, she felt Levi then; warm and protective around her.

"Levi, it wasn't supposed to end that way"

"Well technically it's not over yet, what if Baz defeats the Humdrum? What if he finally confesses his love for Simon...?"

"I doubt that would happen" Cath sniffled.

"Well I'd like to finish the book anyway and you know, just in case"

Cath looked up at Levi; his big toothy grin that took over his face and kissed him. She was ready now, it was inevitable, the book was going to end and there was nothing she could do to stop it.

"Baz dropped to his knees; breathless. Eight years he'd waited for that moment, but he'd never pictured feeling like this! He crawled to where Simon lay and lifted him on to his knee. "Go!" he screamed at the merwolf, "You got what you wanted you bastard, now go!" he sat there crying in to Simon's chest. As he sat there Baz realised something, all those years he'd spent hating Simon he had thought they were fuelled by Anger, but now in the pit of his stomach he felt something different; he felt love. Baz loved Simon. There was nothing he could do now. No way of showing Simon how he really felt. Unless, he defeated the Humdrum and saved the world from destruction."

Levi looked at Cath,

"Isn't that what you wrote?" he said

"I, I think so"

Cath flicked to the back of the book and there it was:

Cath was speechless, Levi took the book from her.

"Wow Cath, Gemma T. Leslie has read your work. She's used your work in her book!" Levi said excitedly. "Call Wren, she needs to hear about this!"

"Just, hold a second, I need to wrap my head around it"

 Cath stood up from the love seat and made her way to Levi's bed. She laid down and looked up at the ceiling, Levi's floppy hair was hanging in her face. She couldn't believe what had just happened. She was speechless. One minute she was crying; it was the end of Simon and Baz, the end of life as she knew it and the next she was reading HER work in Gemma T. Leslie's book. But why?

"I just don't understand" Cath said mostly to herself. "Why use my work?"

"Because you're talented Cath! How many readers do you have on FanFixx? Tens of thousands!"

"How did she get my work?"

"Why are you stressing? You should be jumping through the roof" Levi said.
