Chapter 22
Jared's POV
"No!"
I wake up with a jolt.
Screams.
Screams.
Lots and lots of screams.
I jump out of my fire bed (which can I say is awesome!) and leap out the door.
Surrounding, both Grace and I's houses are hundreds, of black chickens.

"Oh, man!"
I yell.
I scan the area around me and see if there is a place I can run-
Oh, wait.
Grace.
Crap.
"Grace!"
I yelled about we loud as I could.
The black chickens were getting closer (honestly, did Morgana not have any other monsters?)
I didn't hear anything from her 'hut'.
This isn't the time to be in a deep sleep right now!
I told her in my head.
"I can't believe I'm doing this!"
I slapped my hand to my head, then put it down and concentrated.
"Okay Jared," I told myself "just gotta kill a bunch of monsters, save a damsel in distress, and get both of us out alive."
I smiled at myself.
"Piece of cake."

I started with walls of fire.
"Start of plan."
I told myself.
"First, keep monsters away for as long as possible."
"Two, protect the damsel in distress."
"Three, escape alive."
I almost laughed.
"And have fun!"
I lifted my hands and felt the heat flow through me.
A huge wall of fire was put between me and the black chickens.
"Protection, sustained."
After I was sure the fire was large enough to protect us, I ran over to Graces hut.
I started banging, hard on the door.
"Grace!"
No time for 'happy wake ups'.
"Honestly! Grace!"
I looked through the door.
Their were flowers, roots and trees growing in a fortress looking thing surrounding her.
She was sitting up, and her eyes were wide with fear.
"Jared!" She screamed "put your fire out and I'll come help!"
I hasn't noticed that a large circle of fire was surrounding her.
And, I wasn't controlling it.
"Gra-Grace!" I yelled
"What?!"
"That's not me!"
Then, my fire goes out.
