Shining's POV: I whimper as I watch mine and my brother's siblings plus our mommy and daddy get killed by a Pokémon poacher, and squeal in fright when the poacher spots us and heads towards us, but just as he's about to kill us, I open my mouth to yell for help, but it ends up as a scream that creates a blue wave of energy which blows the poacher away. I gasp quietly and clamp my paws over my mouth in shock of what I did-I just used Hyper Voice! I slowly breathe to calm down but yelp underneath my paws when the poacher gets back up and heads back over then raises his knife to try and kill us again. I hope I can use Hyper Voice again...here goes nothing! I open my mouth and take a deep breath, then scream to create a wave of blue energy that blows the poacher away again, "EEEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEEE!"
Virizion's POV: I snap my head to the side when I hear a loud scream that sounds like "EEEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEEE!" and turn to Terrakion while asking quietly once I get his attention, "did you hear that?" Terrakion replies with a snort, "how could I not? That was definitely a Hyper Voice scream. But the one thing that puzzles me is that it sounded like an Eevee." Keldeo says as he trots over in his Resolute form, "maybe we should ask Cobalion if we should check it out." I respond to Keldeo's statement, "I agree." We talk to Cobalion about investigating the source of the Hyper Voice scream we all heard and he says, "I believe we should investigate." The rest of us nod and split up into pairs. Terrakion pairs up with Cobalion and Keldeo pairs up with me. We look around with no success until a while later, after the sun has set, I see an Eevee sleeping with another Eevee, a black ribbon tied around the second Eevee's neck like a bowtie, the first Eevee having a lilac ribbon tied in a bow around its right ear secured by a purple gem, when I hear a soft "Eevee" and see the first Eevee's eyes opening, but much to my surprise, the Eevee's eyes are two different colors, the right eye blue and the left eye being tea green instead of magenta like I expected, then the second Eevee wakes up, its eyes being the same color as the first Eevee's eyes except slightly lighter and the position of the colors swapped, and both get frightened and scurry further into the cave they were sleeping in, causing me to sigh in frustration, knowing that the cave is too small for me to fit into without crouching and crawling into the cave, which would probably scare the Eevee even further, and Keldeo offers as he returns to his normal form, "I could probably get them to come out, I'm small enough to fit in the cave." I nod and he enters the cave then I hear his voice echoing as he speaks to the Eevees, "hey, it's okay, we didn't mean to scare you. We just want to talk to you, outside of this cave preferably so I can use my Resolute form." I hear the first Eevee's voice echoing as she replies, "you just wanted to talk to us? Why didn't you just say so? Wait, who's that at the entrance to the cave?" Keldeo replies to the Eevee's last question, "that's my friend Virizion. She won't hurt either of you, and neither will I. I can't promise that our other friend Terrakion won't hurt you, though, because he does tend to attack at random." The second Eevee pads closer to the mouth of the cave with the first Eevee held by the scruff in his mouth as the female explains about Eevee's evolutions, sometimes called Eeveelutions, and finishes her explanation by explaining what their ribbons are for, "my brother's bowtie sets his evolution into Umbreon in stone, like my bow sets my evolution into Espeon in stone. Eevee can only evolve into Espeon if leveled up with high friendship during the day or the aforementioned method but slightly altered by having a Sun Shard in the bag. But if Umbreon is the desired Eeveelution, then Eevee needs to be leveled up with high friendship at night or by using the aforementioned method but slightly altered by having a Moon Shard in the bag." The first Eevee then grunts and asks in a flat tone, "can you please put me down now?" The second Eevee drops the first Eevee onto her paws and apologizes meekly, "sorry sis..." The first Eevee grumbles and I ask gently so as to not scare her, "do you and your brother have names your parents call you by?" The first Eevee turns her head away upon the mention of her parents and soon her brother does the same as she says, "our parents were killed alongside our six other siblings this morning by a Pokémon Poacher. I was surprisingly able to fend off the poacher with Hyper Voice after I learned the move by blowing him away with said move. But before they were killed, our parents called me Shining. They called my brother Onyx." I say as I lower my neck and head to gently nuzzle her, "I am so sorry to hear that." A while later, the sun rises and Shining seems to be happy to talk about certain Pokémon that have significant shiny differences, one being Espeon's shiny form, which is green instead of lilac, and all of a sudden, she twitches her ears, causing Onyx, Keldeo, and I to look at her while I ask her what's wrong. She replies as her tail twitches a little, "a Trainer's coming! We gotta hide if we don't wanna get caught!" We all rush to a hiding place that we blend in with, and Shining and Onyx hide in plain sight since they blend in with the ground because of their fur color, then once the Trainer leaves, we come out of hiding and I say to her and her brother as I let her climb on my back, noticing she's tired from walking, and turn my head to look at her once she's on my back, "the way you and your brother hid in plain sight while the Trainer was looking for Pokémon to capture by acknowledging your fur color and standing still to blend in with the ground was ingenious! How did you know that would work?" She replies as she looks up at me, shaking her head to get the dirt out of the fur on her ears, "I didn't. I guess the way my brother and I stood so still allowed us to blend in with the ground and hide in plain sight, but I really don't know." A while later, we arrive at the sanctuary of the Swords of Justice and I say as I carry Shining to my part of the sanctuary and set her down in the grass then lay down beside her, "this is the sanctuary of the Swords of Justice, more specifically, my part of the sanctuary. You can tell my part from the others' parts due to the fact that my part of the sanctuary is well taken care of and has a lot of plant life. The others' parts of the sanctuary are respective to their primary typing. Since my primary type is Grass, my part of the sanctuary has a lot of plant life." Shining says as she looks around at all the plant life in my part of the sanctuary, "wow...it's so beautiful!" I say with a soft chuckle, "why thank you." She turns around and giggles at me then jumps up and does something nobody's ever done to me before, trainer or Pokémon: she boops my nose! I stare at her in shock and she giggles again and says as she snuggles up to my leg while wagging her tail, "gotcha!" I say after a while, "alright, I'll admit, you did get me. Mostly because no one has ever done that to me before." She giggles yet again and asks as she looks up at me, the lilac bow on her right ear moving as she twitches her ears, "really? My mom was the one who taught me to boop." I chuckle as she giggles and runs around yelling "ehehehe~! Virizion, chase me!" and run around playfully chasing her, both of us laughing, and even Cobalion smiles when he sees that I've finally let loose to have fun for a change, all because of Shining. Eventually we both run into each other headfirst and stumble back, then we both shake our heads then look at Onyx and Keldeo as they come over, and Keldeo asks as he and Onyx look at Shining and I, "can we join in?" I respond with a chuckle, "why not? Just try to keep up!" With that, Shining and I take off running and Shining crawls carefully into one of the bushes in my part of the sanctuary with a squeal when Keldeo says playfully, "I'm gonna getcha, Shining!" I bite back an amused snicker when Keldeo walks in circles while looking for Shining, and Shining yells as she pokes her head out, "BOO!" When Keldeo screams and whips around to look for Shining, she's already disappeared into the bush again, and I can't help but snicker at Keldeo's confused expression, and eventually, when night falls on the sanctuary and everyone else has gone to sleep, I call gently before I go to bed to get Shining to come out, "Shining, come out, it's nighttime and we need to go to bed!" Shining attempts to climb out of the bush only to find her long caramel brown fur tangled around the thorns and sighs in frustration, causing me to ask in concern as I look at her, "is everything alright, Shining?" She replies frustratedly, "I'm stuck." I sigh and tell her to stay where she is while I get Cobalion, and call gently as I knock on the door to Cobalion's part of the sanctuary, "sorry to wake you, Cobalion, but we have a bit of an issue." Cobalion asks groggily as he opens the door for me, "what is it, Virizion?" I respond as I look back at the bush Shining is in in my part of the sanctuary, "Shining climbed into one of the bushes in my part of the sanctuary earlier today when we were playing and when I told her to come out, she told me she was stuck, and I need your help to get her loose." Cobalion asks as we head back to my part of the sanctuary, "and why didn't you make sure the bushes were free of thorns Shining's fur could get tangled around?" I respond truthfully, "I was told they were thornless bushes, but I suppose they really weren't. Next time I'll be more careful." Shining whimpers when she sees Cobalion and I, "help..." I say softly to her, "we will. I promise." Cobalion and I reach into the bush and I say softly to her as I prepare my Sacred Sword, "we're going to have to cut your fur to free you. Alright?" She whimpers as she lower her ears, "ok...just please get me loose! I don't like being stuck!" Cobalion and I use Sacred Sword to cut Shining loose from the thorns and she says as she crawls out once she's free and shakes rapidly to get the leaves from the bushes out of her fur, "thanks for that. Guess I should be more careful, huh?" Both of us nod and she says when she's done shaking, "oh, and thanks for getting me loose." Cobalion gives her a simple nod and turns around then goes back to his part of the sanctuary, and I say as Shining and I climb onto my bed, "alright, let's get some sleep. Don't want to be tired in the morning, because you and your brother have a lot of training to do if you're going to be able to protect yourselves from that poacher." She says as she scratches behind her ear presumably because of an itch and looks up at me while laying down when she's done, "ok. Night, Virizion." I respond softly as I lay my head down and she snuggles up close to me to stay warm, "goodnight, Shining." The next morning, Shining says as she gently pokes my cheek with her paw, "Virizion, wake up! Cobalion's orders!" I grumble and say as I yawn then stretch to avoid cramping up during the day, "good morning, Shining." She replies sweetly as she closes her crystal blue and tea green eyes and wags her tail, "morning Virizion!" We both get up and Shining says as she hops down and stretches, "don't wanna get any cramps during training! That would be the worst!" I chuckle and say as we head into the main part of the sanctuary, "I hope you got a good amount of sleep last night, because you've got a lot of training ahead of you. That includes an obstacle course." She says as she wags her tail and adjusts her bow with a paw, "can't wait!" We all burst out laughing at Shining's enthusiasm, and eventually Shining starts laughing too, and says as she shakes rapidly again, flinging a lot of shed fur all over the sanctuary, "morning guys!" Everyone else gives her a good morning and we head out to the training grounds, but while Shining is doing the obstacle course with difficulties, something amazing happens: she jumps higher than she normally does and becomes surrounded by a glow, indicating her evolution into Espeon. As her ears get larger, the bow struggles to hold itself together and eventually snaps and falls to the ground, but the gem never falls, since it's going to situate itself on her forehead, and she says happily once the glow breaks away from her, "look guys! I'm an Espeon now!" Keldeo responds with a laugh, "we can see that!" Shining says as she lands on top of a rock pillar, "I can't believe this has happened! But I better finish the obstacle course, huh?" We all nod at her and she says as she jumps again, "alright then! Here I go!" She runs between a bunch of pillars that come to a sharp point at the top and springs across the tires, then attacks a training dummy with Swift to get it out of her way and continues across the obstacle course. She stops briefly before the large mud hole to catch her breath and once that's done, she runs straight through the mud, not caring that her paws are getting dirty, and says as she jumps, catches the rope attached to the bell in her mouth, and swings back and forth before letting go and landing front paws extended to cushion the shock, "and I'm done!" I say as she comes back over, swishing her forked tail side to side, "wow, Shining, you cleared the obstacle course faster than I ever could! Well done!" She says as she looks up at me and giggles while closing her eyes, "thanks Virizion!" She then says to her brother as she lightly jabs him in the shoulder with one of her dainty paws, "your turn Onyx!" Onyx says as he gets ready at the starting line, "ok! Let's do this!" Shining and I reset the obstacle course and Keldeo says as we return to our boulder, "ok, go!" Onyx takes off running, missing a few jumps and hitting his head a few times on the stone pillars before leaping across the tires and says as he finishes after a bit of a struggle with the training dummy, "finally done. How'd I do?" Shining says as she looks at him, "not too shabby, but you gotta speed up if you wanna set a new record for yourself."
*later that night*
Shining's POV: I purr softly in my sleep as I curl up next to Virizion but wake up with a confused expression on my face before Skitty yawning and quietly get up then slide off the bed and go outside when I hear grunts of effort and track them to the obstacle course, where I find Onyx trying to set a new record for himself, and he suddenly evolves into Umbreon while running through the mud and says as he finally speeds to the finish line, unaware of my presence, "finally! New record!" I say to surprise him as I sit down on mine and Virizion's boulder and swish my forked tail side to side, "well done, Onyx." He yelps in surprise when he hears my voice and stammers when he sees me after using Flash to search for me, "s-s-sis!! H-how much did you see?!" I respond as I get up and go over to him, "I came around the time you got to the mud pit and saw you evolve. I saw the rest too. But not anything before that. Now let's head back to the sanctuary before Virizion and Keldeo get worried and come looking for us." He says as we turn and walk back to the sanctuary together, "you're right. Besides, all that trying to set a new record for myself tired me out." I respond, currently unaware of the poacher from yesterday morning sneaking up behind us, "I bet." My gem pulses and I scan the area with my psychic powers, then yell to warn Onyx when I detect the poacher's presence, "KI O TSUKETE(Japanese for watch out!)!" He jumps and uses Dark Pulse to protect me and him from the poacher, and ends up scaring him off anyway. I say after sighing in relief, "we better tell the swords when we get back to the sanctuary. If they're still awake, that is. If not then we'll just have to tell them in the morning." I twitch my ears when I hear the rushing water from Keldeo's part of the sanctuary and the birds chirping from Virizion's part of the sanctuary and say as we keep walking, "we're close. No doubt Cobalion found out about you sneaking out. I'll be surprised if they're still asleep." We head into the sanctuary, and upon finding all the swords still asleep, head into our respective guardian's part of the sanctuary. For me, it's Virizion's part of the sanctuary. For Onyx, it's Keldeo's part of the sanctuary. I crawl into bed with Virizion and curl up next to her again as if nothing ever happened in the first place and fall asleep curled up next to Virizion, and the next morning, Virizion says softly as she nudges me, "Shining, wake up." I yawn as I get up then stretch and purr softly while walking alongside Virizion to the main part of the sanctuary, and happily run forward and nuzzle my cheek against Onyx's when he comes close enough for me to detect him with my psychic powers, causing everyone to "awww~" at the sibling love between Onyx and I.
