Runny Cole is dead, and she has been dead for thirty-one long years. She was never supposed to wake up. The dead do not awake. But Runny did just that.
She woke up in a lab where she learns from Doctor Victoria James her body was given to science, and she had been given a second chance at life as long as she stays put. Runny is thrown into a specially made labratory where she lives with other children brought back from the dead, each with their own quirks and secrets.
Slowly, though, it becomes obvious that the intentions of Dr. James were not all good. Her second chance at life suddenly becomes a race against not only her time left on Earth but those who brought her back to life. Runny must use the little time she has left to right her wrongs and discover where her heart really belongs.
