Hello guys! So, recently, red_writer99 informed me that it was her birthday in a week. Of course, this means that I'll write her a one-shot! I've decided that this is what I'm going to start doing for people, because it seems to make people very happy (or I assume it does from the 'Happy Birthday' thing I did for Samantha )

So hear you go, red! Happy Birthday!!

This is based off the song 'Never Too Late' by Secondhand Serenade.

Jane's POV

I'm standing here, inside the small room in the attic where I shut myself away from the world. I can here Lisbon's pacing footsteps inside. I still don't understand why she comes back here for me. I've hurt her so many times. I'm trying to make up for my mistakes, but it's hard. Some scars run to deep, and sometimes I feel that if I mess up again, I could lose her forever. I was wrong to ever test us.

"Jane? Please come out." I hear her plead. "Just let me help you."

"Lisbon, you don't want to help me. Trust me, the broken road I'm traveling down is more than either of us could take."

"Jane... I'll leave you alone if you want me too." Lisbon starts "But, Jane, know that I'm reaching my limit. I've had enough of this life alone, of you shutting yourself away, while there are people who...who need you, who are waiting for you to come back out."

I hear her anguish in her voice. I don't deserve to tell her that I love her, I've caused her too much pain. There's nothing in this world I'd take above her, but I don't want to hurt her again. I'm dead inside. She brings me back to life.

"Here, I wrote you a note. Please read it, Jane," She asks. A paper slides the way under the door, and I pick it up, my eyes scanning the page, stopping at the words 'My life is not so clear anymore, since the day you shut that door, and locked yourself away. That's when I knew that I needed you.'

"I'll leave you alone now," she quietly decides, and I hear her footsteps trail away. I drop the note, and undo the locks as quickly as I can. Suddenly, all I need is her. I fling the door open, and run down the hall, where I see her turning around to look back at me. I reach her and wrap my arms around her, holding her to me, aware that I've managed to hurt her once again somehow.

"Teresa." I murmur into her ear, knowing that this is the time to tell her.

"Jane, I love you." She rushes out, stumbling over the words.

I turn my head and press my lips to her forehead. "I love you, too."

I was dead inside, You brought me back to life
