It had been two weeks since the first "Abby incident"; Luna and the boys had learned quickly to simply ignore the girl. However, it didn't stop Luna from being semi-passive aggressive with Mikey's girlfriend, but she tried to remain civil for the most part. Today though, was the day that they were finalizing the sell of her parents house.
As she stood next to Liz, she pulled her key from her pocket. Over the years it had lost some of its shine and it was a bit crooked, but it had never failed her. Now, a new key to the Hemmings household sat in its place. She could hear the boys behind her as they waited to head for the beach. Smiling softly she turned her attention back to the conversing adults.
"I think that is everything, all of the paper work is complete and in order. Do we have all of the keys to the house?" Luna held up her copy in her hand for the realtor to take.
"This one was mine, sorry it took so long to get it to you."
"It's quite alright." The lady shot her a warm grin as Luna turned to Liz.
"Is that all you needed me for, Liz? I think the boys are getting impatient."
They both turned to find the boys dramatically lying in the grass. Liz chuckled as she rolled her eyes slightly.
"Yes, you may go now. Just be sure you are back in time for dinner, and please keep the boys out of trouble."
Luna was already jogging away and picking up her bike."Sure thing Mumma!" The boys lead the way, waving goodbye to Liz. Luna worked to catch up with the boys, ready to get to the beach and lay out in the sun for a bit. They only had a couple weeks of summer left, and she was hoping to tan just a little bit. So far though it wasn't going well.
"Hey, is Mikey still going to meet us there?" She asked loudly to the three boys in front of her.
"He's supposed to, but he said Abby might come and he has requested that you be good, Lu."
"I'm always nice to her. Just a different kind of nice." Ashton giggled as he shot her a glance.
"I wouldn't call shaking a soda before handing it to her "nice" Luna."
"She should've been nice back and I wouldn't have." Before Cal could shoot back a word Luke cut him off,
"Well, today can you just be nice. No passive aggressiveness."
Luna remained quiet for the remaining few minutes of the bike ride. As they placed their bikes in the bike rack, she released a frustrated sigh.
"Fine. I'll be nice."
"And?"
"If she tries to start anything I won't retaliate."
"Good." Luke wrapped an arm around her shoulder as they followed Ash and Cal to their favorite spot on the beach. She dropped her backpack on the sand before pulling out her towel and positioning it just right.
"Are you not getting in the water, Red?"
"Maybe in a bit, Ashy. I want to try and tan for a little bit." Before she could get stripped down to just her bathing suit the three of them heard a shout.
"Hey guys!" Turning, they see Mikey making his way over. Luna's spirit lifted slightly when she didn't see Abby. However, her balloon was promptly popped as the brunette girl came up besides Mikey, grabbing his hand. She sent a wave to acknowledge them both before going back to her task. She settled down on her towel, grabbing her tanning lotion.
"Hey Mikey, Abby. You guys going in the water?"
"I know I am, you coming in Abs or hanging out here?"
