What was that??

~~~~twice now, there have been scars witnessed upon an innocent's back, from whence came the scars and at what cost upon one's soul doth said scars avow?~~~~

Gabriel paced back and forth in his office, the growls rumbling from the deepest recesses as He waited for the final warrior squad to report back, as each security team had scoured the territory finding traces and signs that someone, some wolf had indeed trespassed unknown into their territory and was intently focused upon the Beta's house, his family, one in particular, Gabriel's own mate, well his rejected mate, but never the less, Anna is a pack member who has undergone Goddess only knows what while she was gone, and now this?

'Alpha, we have found a campsite on the far eastern border, it appears to carry the scent we tracked from outside the Beta's house, but it is strange, the scent trails off in several directions, one heading into Dark Horizon's territory is strongest, though why would they be camping in our territory? Something else, Alpha, there appear to be scraps of fabric with the Beta's sister's scent, as well as the scent of her blood on a whip which doesn't make sense. Alpha Gabriel, what would You have us do?"

A growl erupted from Gabriel as He heard about the whip, everyone in the vicinity of the Alpha shivered and bared their throats in submission in fear of the rage rolling off of Him. He stalked out of His office and out of the Pack House heading towards the Pack Medical Center, his pace so rapid, he was actually a blur. He would get to the end of this, if it were the last thing He did. He issued orders for the top warriors and trackers to meet up with the team already at the eastern border, with orders to begin tracking the scent, as well as orders for his personal assistant to contact the Alpha of the Dark Horizon pack in regards to the scent crossing into their territory. Somehow, Some way he WOULD get to the bottom of this. How dare a rogue encroach upon His territory and stalk His mate, well rejected mate, but His none the less.

"So, you are beginning to accept that We have a mate, and a most beautiful and strong mate she is," Sloane whispered to Gabriel. "I have no Mate, I rejected her, remember. She isn't strong, she is lost inside of herself, a childlike imbecile, no matter how beautiful she is, she is no Luna of Mine." Gabriel shouted back to Sloane who snarled at the incomprehensible insult to their mate.

You see, Gabriel was a very proud man, one who let his pride rule him at times, though not allowing it to interfere with his running of the pack, he did allow it to affect his personal life, something Sloane hated about his human counterpart. "You have no idea what she has suffered through, didn't you see the scars on her back, she got those trying to save herself for her mate, for US, there is a reason she is the way she is, Jerica showed Me so much, but I cannot tell you more, if you really want to know, you will have to find out on your own, but I would advise for you to find out before you completely ruin our chances with our Mate" Sloane snarled at Gabriel before shutting their connection and slipping off to brood in the recesses of Gabriel's mind.

Slamming into the Medical Center, stressed out and enraged, Gabriel saw a nurse which had often been a bedmate and pulled her into an empty exam room. "STRIP NOW" He ordered her, and then slammed his lips to hers, as she shed her uniform, he pushed her against the wall and thrust his hand between her thighs while ravaging her lips, He found her wet and willing, reaching between them He unsnapped his jeans and removed his cock preparing to push himself deep within the nurses wet core, when he heard an ear piercing scream, Anna's voice could be heard echoing throughout the clinic.

"why do he give me pain, mama, why does the bad man hurt me so" and another ear piercing scream echoed throughout as he slid home into the nurse, taking her rough and fast against the wall to the sound of Anna's screams, and inside a piece of his soul felt like it was dying, as the nurse kissed his neck, he withdrew, unfinished, and redressed himself, slinging the nurse away from him, her voice echoing in his mind, "he gives me pain"..........

Gabriel rushed out of the exam room and down the hall into the room where James stood guard over his sister, with tears running down his face, as the doctor turned towards him, after injecting a sedative into Anna, "I am sorry Beta James, but it appears her Mate is sleeping with someone else, he is the source of her pain, it isn't a flash back to whatever caused her scars, Beta James though I wish it were that simple, whoever her Mate is, he is the source of her screams" they both looked up as Gabriel entered the room, a slightly sick and pale look upon his face. "How is she Doctor?"

"Alpha Gabriel, welcome, she is resting now, however, her body has had a severe shock.  She is also having to deal with the pain of her Mate's infidelity which is causing her severe agony. The poor girl has been through so much for one so young, yet she remains so loving and innocent." Inside Gabriel felt uneasy as a deep sense of shame for having caused Anna pain consumed him.  There is also a sense of jealousy as he saw the admiration and affection the doctor showed towards Anna. "Thank you Doctor, that will be all, I need to speak to Beta James in private now."

The Doctor nodded his head and left the room, only to have the door open a few minutes later and a male nurse entered to change Anna's IV and take a blood sample, his eyes glazed with lust as he stood over an unconscious Anna, causing both Gabriel and James to snarl at the male who scurried out of the room like a pup with his tail tucked between his legs.

It was then, when Gabriel sniffed the air and He realized that Anna was coming into heat, "Great, just great, this is all we need, with her being stalked by some rogue and all of these unmated males around" he looked at James and snarled, "When she is released, move her into your quarters in the Pack House, she will need the added protection of b⅞eing surrounded by the pack, who knows, it may even release her from whatever is making her like this way." With that he raced out of the room, after pausing to look back at a pale, unconscious Anna lying motionless in the bed, worry etched briefly upon his face, before he turned and raced outside.

It was only a matter of seconds, but James noticed the strange look upon Gabe's face, curious as to why he looked that way, he wrinkled his nose as he caught the stench of a fresh coupling where Gabriel had just stood. He wondered why Gabe insisted on Anna being in the Pack House, when it was obvious he felt uncomfortable with Anna for some reason, though why he would feel that way was a mystery to James.  He hoped there were results from the Warriors and Trackers on the scent that had been outside the Beta House.

With a tired sigh, He scent a quick message to his Mom to pack Anna's things and have them taken to the Pack House and put into his quarters, explaining the Alpha's strange orders. Once that was done, He sighed wearily and let his head drop back against the back of the chair, listening to an unconscious Anna whimper in her sleep, wondering why the "bad man" gave her pain and didn't want her as his mate, he heard her cry to the Moon Goddess begging for more time..time for what, He didn't know, but hoped he would find out before whatever this time was ran out...

One question I have, how many of you are ready for, or wish to see a flashback chapter that explains some of what Anna has experienced in the past...also, do any of you have any ideas who this mystery wolf is??
