Chapter 55: Blood Streaked Cheek

Your POV

I laughed and took a little peek in between the baby's legs and it turned out to be...

"It's a boy, guys!" I announced.

"DAMN RIGHT IT IS, what did I tell y'all? Hahaaaa!!!" Andy did a happy dance.

"YYEESS!" Christopher joined Andy.

The people who thought it was a boy had a little celebration.

"Kaytlynn, you owe me $100 from the bet." Mike smirked victoriously. "I was hoping you'd forget..." Kaytlynn crossed her arms over her chest.

"WHAT'S HIS NAME?" Jaime asked me.

"Andy and I decided on the name...Phoenix." I smiled down at him in my hands.

"That's your name, Phoenix." Andy leaned closer to Phoenix and nudged his big nose on Phoenix's little nose.

I hadn't even noticed when I returned to human form or when my stomach went back to normal.

My eyes went from Phoenix to the blood bag...he was already done with it.

Amy saw that too and came up to me, "May I clean him up?"

"Yea, here you go." I, as gently as possible, handed Phoenix over to her.

With him out of my arms, I felt a piece of me being taken with him...hello, motherhood. A world of pain, but happiness too.

While Phoenix was being cleaned, I got out of the bath and put my pjs on.

"Can we do anything for you?" Jess asked.

"No, I'm fine, really. I just wanna lay here with my baby." I chuckled lightly, laying down in bed.

"Aw, I'll lay with you then." Andy slid on the bed next to me. "I was talking about Phoenix, but you'll do." I joked around.

"Alright, he's all clean." Amy walked into the bedroom with Phoenix in a blanket and Christopher by her side.

"Andy, you hold him. You haven't held him yet." I said.

Andy took Phoenix from Amy and sat back down on the bed, "I'm your daddy, Phoenix. And I love you so so much."

What happened next made my heart skip a beat:

Andy brought Phoenix closer and kissed his forehead, then Phoenix smiled with his already developed teeth.

"Aawwww! Look at his tiny teeth!" I squealed, making Phoenix look over to me.

"That's your mommy! See your mommy? Beautiful, right?" Andy baby talked Phoenix.

My little baby smiled at me, showing me his pearly whites, and giggled.

I could cry again, but I'll force myself not to.

"Can we hold him please?" Kaytlynn asked Andy. "Sure, but sit down first, next to the Queen." He pointed to the spot next to me.

More fatherly instinct, as if he couldn't get any hotter.

Kaytlynn quickly sat next to me, and Andy handed Phoenix to her. "Support his head," Andy helped her, "there, you're good."
