I'm Fine

Meanwhile, a small skeleton was in the kitchen downstairs, eating some leftover cinnamon-butterscotch pie and drinking a red bottle of ketchup. His name is Sans, Sans the skeleton. Sans just had another one of his little nightmares and, not wanting to wake his brother, snuck downstairs to have a bite and calm down. Sans had a reputation for being the mysterious, punny guy next door who always seemed to have a joke or two ready for you. But he also had a reputation for countless nightmares, night after night. But only his brother, Papyrus, and Frisk the human really knew about this streak of endless horrific dreams.

Every dream was the same or almost the same. But every time, paps would die, and every time, he would fight the murderous human for vengeance in an unbeatable fight and die. Scary, right? But the scarier part is, before the timeline became a Paci-frisk timeline, most of those nightmares weren't nightmares. They were real fights that happened, they were just reset. But tonight was different. Tonight, Sans didn't fight Frisk. He didn't fight Chara, either. The young girl he fought had black hair, not brown. And she had one blue eye and one completely black eye, not brown or green eyes. As the comedian was pondering on who that was,( he didn't get to talk in his dream, he only just fought the weird girl) he heard a deafening shout of fear coming from upstairs.

Sans dropped his ketchup bottle on the floor with a thud, spit out the piece of pie in his mouth ( I have no idea how when he doesn't open his mouth), and teleported upstairs. He instantly knew when he heard the screech who it was. Frisk. Obviously, he wasn't the only one who heard the yell, so most of the household was in Frisk's room. Toriel was sitting on the bed with the kid, comforting them. Paps was at the edge of the bed, firing endless questions at Frisk, trying to probe them to figure out the problem. Undyne was silently standing behind Papyrus, looking kinda annoyed ( most likely because it was a false alarm and didn't have anything to stick her spears through and fight). And Flowey was sitting in his pot on the windowsill, sleeping. Everyone else must've gone to sleep after figuring out everything was alright. " Are you sure it was just a nightmare, Frisk?" Toriel asked softly. Frisk nodded. " ARE YOU SURE, HUMAN? YOU DID SCREAM VERY LOUDLY," Papyrus inquired. " I'm alright. Why don't you all go back to bed? It's really late." Frisk suggested quietly. Sans stood in the doorway, unsure whether or not he should intervene. He finally stepped completely into the room. " It is pretty late. Why don't you all just go to bed, and I'll talk to 'em," Sans said, " I'll stay with 'em until they fall asleep. How does that sound, kid?" Frisk hesitated for a moment, then nodded. Finally, after a bit of talking, they came to a decision. The three of them left the room saying goodnight, leaving Sans with Frisk.

"So, kiddo, mind tellin' me what's wrong?" the skeleton asked. Frisk shook their head. " It was just a nightmare, I'm fine," they said. Sans raised an imaginary eyebrow at them," Well, Mr.Fine, can you please tell me what happened in your nightmare?" Frisk sat there, staring at the wall, trying to decide whether or not they should tell them. Then again, how he asked them was more of an order than a question. Frisk looked at Sans." Ok, but can you promise not to tell anyone? I really don't want to concern anybody." The comedian took a quick second to think about it. He hated making promises, but he needed to know what was going on." Fine," he agreed, " won't tell a soul."

So Frisk told him about everything. Everything except the part about the girl. They didn't know why they were so afraid of her, after all, she was just a figment of their imagination. But there was something about what she said that made Frisk not tell him. The girl seemed to have power, or maybe it was the fact that she looked like she was a psychotic murderer. Frisk finished explaining and watched Sans for a reaction. But, he just nodded and said," that's one heck of a dream. But don't worry. I'll protect you from bad dreams tonight." Frisk smiled. " But are you sure you're ok?" he asked. Frisk pulled the covers up, and stared at the ceiling, then looked back at Sans with a tired smile." Don't worry," they reassured.

" I'm Fine."
