Clover🍀

The first day of school. I had no idea what it would be like.

I spent the rest of summer going to the school every other day to finish my tour. It was very fun. I met a few girls and guys. They were all very nice. I think I've got this school memorized.

I got up really early and changed into a T-shirt and some jeans. I brushed my hair and washed my face and brushed my teeth. Downstairs, my parents were up and about to leave. They told me that bus was going to be here soon and to listen for the sound of the horn.

I knew it was still 5:27 and the bus would be here for me at 5:35. I took out some cereal and began eating my breakfast.

I heard the bus's horn outside. I grabbed my bag and walked over to it. The doors swung open and I walked in. I sat in the second seat and plugged on my headphones. I just wanted to relax for now, I was getting too anxious.

Five minutes later I heard somebody sit next to me. It was a boy. I could smell their cologne very strongly.

Then he said, "Hey, excuse me, could you move your bag? It's taking up space on the seat."

I didn't notice how small the seats were. And I put my bag there? I should watch where I put things. "Oh, sorry, I didn't realize."

He seemed to think for a moment then said, "C-Clover? I thought you were going to walk."

I took off my earbuds quickly recognizing that it was Max. "Oh, well, my parents decided otherwise. Nice to meet you again." I put away my earbuds, eager to talk to someone about the first day. "So, how was your summer-" A boy from a seat behind us didn't let me continue.

"Max! I didn't know you were so friendly with the new girl." He began to tease Max.

"I'm not! I just happened to sit here." He said in defense.

"Why don't you come back with me then."

"I will." He got up and went to his friend's seat. I got my headphones out again and listened to some more music.

The bus stopped at the school and we got off.

I heard crowds of kids around me whispering. I bet they thought I wouldn't hear them, but they were talking about the new girl. They were talking about me.

I ignored them and walked over to the patio table and sat down. It wasn't long before I had somebody grab my shoulders and hug me. I knew exactly who it was. "Hey Kiki! You're here!" I smiled.

"Of course I'm here silly. How did you know who I was?"

"I just know."

"Okay, so, are you excited?"

"I guess so. I'm a little worried that the teachers will announce things over again. You know, about me?"

"I don't think they will. They're here to teach. But, if Mrs. Walwright does it. I suggest you talk to the rest of the teachers about it before they get a chance to mention it."

"You're right. So, uh, do you have a crush on anyone?"

"Woah! That was out of the blue."

"Sorry, sorry! I just know that's what most friends talk about."

"It's alright, and I actually do like someone."

"Really? Who?"

"His name is Sebastian Hallow. He is so cute. He is the captain of of the science and math club."

"Ahh, I see, you're not into the more popular guys?"

"Not really, most girls like them, but they aren't really worth it. People like that don't show their true colors."

"What do you mean?"

"People don't show who they really are at school."

"Who shows their true colors at school?"

"People like me and you."

"Yeah, I'm starting to notice that."

"You sound like you have a crush on a jock. Care to tell?"

"I don't, really. I just see that people's principles aren't what I thought they would be like."

"Why do you say that? What ha-"

Ring

"That's the warning bell. We should get to class."

"Right."

I got up from the bench and tried to reach the entrance. Unfortunately, the school was trampling me like an ant. I tried to stay standing, but finally, I fell.

I didn't know where Katy was. I heard her calling my name, but I didn't know where the sound was coming from. I stayed on the ground for a few seconds. Then a hand grabbed mine and swung me off the ground onto the side. I held myself up by the patio table. Then, the figure leaned almost on top of me, making me uncomfortable.

It wasn't Katy. It was a boy. Not Max though. His smell was different.

He was still right in front of my face. His nose almost touching mine. "Are you alright?"

I nodded. He passed his hand through my hair.

"Good, you be careful out there cutie." He stroked my cheek.

"Uh, wait! Could I know your name? Please?" I called after him.

"It's Terry. Terry Molse."

He disappeared and Katy came running and hugged me. "Jeez! You have to stay close to me, you could've died out there. Wait, your not even hurt? What happened?"

"I got a little help I guess. From Terry Molse?"

"Terry Molse helped you?!"

"What? What's wrong with that?"

"He is the most popular guy in our grade. He doesn't care for anybody. The only person he has ever shown signs of help was his old crush, but she transferred. How could he help you?"

"I don't know. He was standing awfully close to me too. Our noses were almost touching. And he touched my hair and cheek."

After my words. I don't know what Katy said. She was making this screeching noises. When she finally calmed down, she said, "OMG! Terry likes you? My goodness! You're his new crush! Forget about hard times at school, with him defending you, you don't have to worry about a thing."

I dont have to worry about a thing? But, I don't want anyone to have a crush on me. I don't need it.

I don't even know what I look like. I don't know who would be attracted to me. Oh, gosh. What have I gotten myself into?
