It's dark.. And cold.. A dark and cold place. I wish there was more  could say about it but there isn't. Rain was pouring down harshly as a siren went off. A tornado warning. "Hello..?" i looked around more "Hello!?" I yelled into the nothingness that was now coming out to be green. I was outside. On a hill. I looked up, trees. "A... Forest..?" I whispered to myself. I saw a bridge ahead through the rain. Difficult to see but i could make out the posts at the end. As i got closer i came to realize it was a bridge over a cliff. A crevasse.. "No.. i-Im terrified of height.. Where am!?" I stepped on the first foot space on the riggity wood that held it all together. It let out a long creek. Silence. I attempted another stepp. I felt like something was up this hill that i needed to see. Another step led to another sharp squeaking noise "please.. Please don't break.. Don't look down. Don't break." SNAP the thin and dry rotten plank broke, sending me down the crack in the crust of the earth. My arm smacked against a tree branch.

"Diana!"

My head snapped up. I looked around with my heart pounding.

'A.. a dream..?' I asked myself in my head.

"Diana."

I heard the snapping of more wood that i now looked up and saw were a female hand snapping at me

"Wake up girl. Stay with me now."

My mom's voice.

"Wake up. We are almost there."

I glanced out the window

'Ohio.. Great.' I rolled my eyes and slouched in my seat. Glancing around the car i noticed how much we actually crammed in here and with the moving van following us, i couldn't believe this was happening. We were actually moving away from everything we ever knew in New York.

I glanced down at my light browny orange skin from my Latino roots that was gleaning from the sun hitting it. I brushed my thick black hair in front of my face to block the sun.

About twenty minutes later, we stopped. It was an alright house. Small.. But nice. My room was probably the smallest in the house. Yes, including the bathroom.

I couldn't wait for school. Sorry, too much sarcasm? I am going to a new school to be a junior. We haven't met our neighbors yet so i can already tell that's going to be "fun". I mean who would want to spend time with me? My mom says i'm glued to my phone and she expects me to make friends. At Least we moved here on the weekend. I walked down the steps to meet my mom in the kitchen. "Is it alright if I go and see the town?"

My mom frowned at me "You know how i feel about you going out on your own Dee.."

"My name isn't Dee. It's Diana, mom. No more childhood nicknames. I'm almost 17. Besides, I have my phone on me.. Its charged too. I'll keep the volume turned up.. Pleassse.." I trailed out the 'ss'

She rolled her eyes at me and pointed at the door "It gets locked at 7 sharp."

"7:30." I laughed

"7:15 Now get out of my house!" she laughed and shooed me away "Unpack the rest of your things tomorrow please."

I nodded and ran out the door. If i was going to be staying in Ohio, i needed one friend. That's all. ONE friend and I could survive. Time to make an impression.."
