Survive

Author's note

I originally made this for my best friend "Larissa" as a birthday present. Her and I like to make up stories for each other and it's one way we connect. I put a lot of time and effort in the story for her so that makes it one of my best stories. I hope you enjoy!

Fear. Fear is the first thing I felt when I realized we were lost.

One Hour Earlier

Today is the day were scheduled to leave. For a week me and my best friend Jade, have been camping in the vast wildernest of Shenandoah National Forest, Virginia, with our families. It's been really fun and today we're supposed to go home. While Jade and I pack her things we try to devise a plan to get our parents to let us carpool together.

" To try and get you in my car would have to get rid of Jimmy," Jade says mysteriously. "We'd have to get him to go into your car and convince your parents."

"Or do it the other way. Getting rid of Zack and you go on my car." I say.

"Yes." She agreed.

"Well, let's ask them right now."

"Okay but we need to ask them together so the urge to say 'NO' will lessen.

A few minutes later.

"NO."

"Please!" Jade and I both say.

" Only if you help a lot."

"YES!"

Then it happened. The horrible sound that made your stomach turn. The sound of your baby sister's scream. Zane and Lily playing by the stream and suddenly they both screamed. Everyone stopped what they were doing and rush to the stream. There, what we found made you want to cry. It appeared both of them were bitten by a snake. Everyone was scared. Parents begin to think their child is going to die, siblings start thinking they should've been better to them. Even worse news is when everyone got into the RV the engine was dead. Jade's mom and my mom started to sob.

"One of us needs to go and find help." Curt, Jade's Dad says.

"Yes," My Dad says. "I'll go. I'll be right back, Cind. I promise."

"No, I need you to take care of them. I'll go find help. I think I saw a road a few miles back. I'll be back before sundown. Maybe you could find food? Well I have a little bit of food left."

"Okay" My Dad said clearly not liking having to send someone off.

As Jade's dad got ready to leave she watched him get ready and watched him until he disappeared behind the foliage. It look like she was holding in tears.
