Jesse's POV
Chapter 1
The lost and found
It was a beautiful day, the sun shinning, 65" degrees, light ocean breezes, and the beach. I had never seen anything as beautiful as her. Demi was a beautiful young woman, she had just turned 16" last week. She stayed that summer here at the beach with her Dad.
Her hair was a chocolate brown color, her eyes were a teal blue that twinkled like the Heaven's stars, and the way she put her finger on her lip, ugh, it made me love her more and more, it was so sexy how she did it. Demi wasn't your average girl, she was more than that, she was one of those girly girls who didn't want to admit it, kind of like a tomboy girl I guess, I don't know.
Something about Demi changed my summer, my life.
One afternoon, my friend Joe decided he was going to come into my work place and bug me. "Hey Jesse!" I gave Joe a glare and laughed and said, "Hey Joe, what can I help ya with? Or are you just here to bug me again haha!" Joe bug eyed me and said, "I'll have you know, I didn't want to come in here and see you, but... My car broke down." Le sigh.... Why did I have to work at an auto repair place??? "Alright, let me take a look, where'd you park bro?" "Um... I broke down on the other side of the beach..." I looked at him and all around and shouted, "Are you kidding me Joe?!?!?!?" "Yeah, yeah, listen I know." "Ugh, Joe... I could fucking kill you, you know that?" Joe smirked and said, "Yeah, but you won't, because I'm your bestfriend and you love me!" "Whoa whoa, bestfriend yeah, but love? No no, no love haha!" "Can you help me or no man?" I looked at him for a real quick second and snapped my head back and yelled into the back, "Hey Bobby!" "Yeah man, whatchu need?" "Think you can get your tow truck up and running to the other side of Dory Beach?"
"Did dumb dumb here break down again?" Joe snapped and sarcastically said, "Hey, I'm not that dumb!" I batted my eyes at Bobby and he rolled his eyes, "I guess I can, but you owe me big time Jesse, because I'm on my break!" "Haha, thanks Bobby, and I'll make it up to ya!"
After Joe left with Bobby, work got quiet, so I was just sitting there playing with the pens on the desk twirling them around. "Hello?" I heard this sweet voice calling out. "Is anyone here, hello?" I jumped out of my seat and ran to the front desk. "Hi there, can I help you with something?" So there she stood, just looking straight at me and looking all around, she looked like she was getting ready to order food off the McDonalds dollar menu. "Miss, can I help you?" She slowly turned her head towards me and laughingly said, "Oh... Haha, I'm sorry um, my Dad and I are visiting and I was just checking out the shops, I love coming into car shops and looking at the cars and the engines. I absolutely love cars, I hope I didn't freak you out."
My jaw completely dropped!!!! I was speechless, how could a girl like her love cars? "Oh no no, you're fine.. Like, really fine." Oh gush why'd I say that! "Haha is that supposed to be some weird nice compliment?" Why'd I say that, I could kill myself. "Oh geez, when you put it like that you make me sound like a weirdo haha!" Great, she thinks I'm some weird guy who's trying to pull a fast one on her, great. "May I look around a bit?" I smiled a little bit and said, "Sure, I don't see why not." She wander all over the shop looking at the car stuff and then she saw the door that lead to the shop, that's where she got me. "May I go back there and look at the cars?" I couldn't say no, so I just kinda looked around the shop for a moment and I quickly answered. "Um... yeah sure I guess, it's not gonna hurt anyone, right?" She just kinda looked at me and smiled. I walked towards her and stopped in front of her and said, "Come on, I'll show you around, think of it as a tour haha!" She smiled and followed me back to the cars.
She spoke very quiet, but also polite. "So do you live here?" I was puzzled at the question at first, but then I immediately snapped back to reality. "Yeh, I live here with my uncle, what about you?" The question was stupid I already knew the answer because she said she was visiting with her Dad, how dumb was I??? "Visiting." "Yeh, kind of had a dumb moment there, don't pay attention to it haha!" "It's ok, I have those too." She giggled and smiled, but I didn't mind, because I thought it was kind of cute. I scuffed my feet not knowing what to say, but a thousand words came to my head, none of which was appropriate to ask or say to a girl who I had just met. So of course being the awkward one in the tough situation I decided to ask one of the stupidest questions ever. "So... How do you like this weather, huh?" She looked like she was about to laugh her ass off, but she just simply nodded her head, smiled, and said, "Well, it's certainly better than the weather that we're having back home, that's for sure." "Where do you live?" She had to think for a minute, as if she had forgotten where she had lived. "Maryland." "That's neat, I used to go there on the weekends to live with my Mom after her and my Dad got divorced." She looked down and her eyes lost that sparkle, I could tell she kind of cared, and that maybe she could relate?
