视,如诗

Baekhyun wasn't someone who could see well  from the start. Since he was young, he was diagnosed with Primary Congenital Glaucoma, a condition in which high fluid pressures damage the optic nerves of the eyes. Unfortunately, it wasn't detected early enough, and by the time they found out, it was too late to recover his vision.

Chanyeol, on the other hand, was someone with perfect 20/20 vision. The kind to see people well with. Baekhyun, to be exact.

Baekhyun was in the same high school as him, but had specialists as teachers instead of mass lectures, since he learnt in Braille. He was special; the only blind student that was accepted into the elite academy because of his amazing academic capabilities. He was rich, he was smart, he was cute. But no one saw underneath the thick-rimmed glasses he wore to pretend he could see, and they shunned him whenever they saw him. Those that were new to the school tended to approach him, but leave when they eventually figured out he couldn't see the directions they were pointing at. It was no one's fault, really. The barrier was just too high, and they were too different from him. They were interested in fashion, in music notes, in sports. Baekhyun couldn't see the mismatched outfits he donned to school, couldn't see the small scribbles of musical notes on music scores, couldn't see where the ball was heading to. He was just someone that was too different, too isolated from the rest of this world. He knew that, and he started to isolate himself even more, from everyone.

Chanyeol was someone immensely popular in the school, because of his good looks, his effortless charisma, his friendly nature. He didn't crave attention; it just came to him. He was a transfer student, but he was accepted into the hustle and bustle of the school body in no time.

He was awestruck the first time he stumbled upon Baekhyun. Chanyeol was in love with the drums, and he never failed to make a trip to the secluded music room after class every day. When he was about to boisterously walk into his personal space and get down to his favorite instrument, he was stopped in his tracks when he heard a soft, but appealing voice. He peered in, curious to know its owner, and he was surprised to see the boy that caught his eye from the start of his school term.

He always thought Baekhyun was so cool, and so unattainable. He didn't know Baekhyun was ostracized, being the daft person he was. He hid every time he saw Baekhyun, not realizing that the latter couldn't even see him no matter how excessive his actions were.

He stood at the door, but Baekhyun immediately realized there was someone else besides him, since Chanyeol had this bad habit of dragging his feet. Alarmed, he shot up, trying to grab his things.
Dismayed, Chanyeol started waving his hands around, hastily repeating, "It's okay! I don't mind sharing the room!"

Upon hearing his desperation, Baekhyun slowly came to a halt, and tilted his head, in the general direction of the voice. "You.......you're okay with me?"

"What do you mean okay! Of course I'm okay with you! Who wouldn't be?"

"Are you trying to fuck with me?"

Chanyeol was confused. Why would Baekhyun think that? Couldn't he see the sincerity all over his face?

"I'm not. I just heard your voice, and I really like it. So please, just stay and sing."
