I ran speedily at him screaming as his hand began to glow. I was about to punch him when all of a sudden, he had my automail in his grasp, the light around his hand got brighter until my arm shattered into pieces and flung me to the floor.

"EDD!!!"

-----------------------------------------

No one's POV:

Edward was currently lying on the wet, cobblestone alleyway. The rain was pouring and pelting his back as he crouched on the floor. The air seemed to thicken with the present smell of freshly cut metal. He was shocked, scared wouldn't be the word; an emotion that was refused from his soul along time ago. Worry slowly closed in on him. What happened to Alphonse? What happened to (Y/N)? What's going to happen to him? Was he going to die here and to this man? He could hear his little brother crying out to him to get up however Ed was paralyzed out of shock. The man grew closer to him and picked him up by his braid. Edward hissed and his face curled in pain until he opened his eyes and was face to face with the murderer. He gasped when he saw the colour of his eyes.

"Ishvallen." He whispered, loud enough for everyone around him to hear.

"Yes, you are correct. I am from Ishval and you alchemists are playing in God's shoes. I must terminate you and your friends. I pray that I ask for God to be merciful on your soul when you return to him." He stated as his hand began to spark red, it looked a lot like alchemy.

"Wait," Ed pleaded, "Leave my brother and my friend alone. You can take me but leave them out of this! It's me you want, not them!" Edward cringed still at the pain of his hair being ripped from his head. The Ishvallan paused and to think, the sound of fast raindrops pelt to the floor make the surroundings echo like bombs. Eventually, he answers.

"You have my promise."

Just as he was about to place his hand on Ed's head a loud bang goes off behind him. Everything becomes silent apart from the storm above them.

"That's enough." A deep voice could be heard behind them. Ed recognized it immediately, it was the Colonel. Ed signed deeply in relief. The man dropped Ed and he fell to the ground harshly. However, the Ishvallen had used his alchemy to explode the wall to a building next to them, creating a diversion to get away. Fortunately, Edward was helped up by Riza, who placed her military jacket over his shoulders. He smiled in thanks but instantly remembered that his brother was turned to scrap metal. Jumping to his feet, he ran back over to the alleyway where Al's temporary body lay in pieces.

"Al? Alphonse speak to me, buddy!" No reply.

Shockingly, a large cry was heard from the metal body and Edward was faced with a massive hit to the face.

"Agh! Al, what was that for?" Ed cried, rubbing his face to calm the burning sensation.

Both brothers started squabbling with each other until Al said something of importance.

"Well, if you died, I couldn't get my body back. That'd be selfish of you to leave me like this!"

Ed was silenced by this. Alphonse was right, how could he have been so selfish to have his life taken from him only to leave his brother to suffer his mistakes. His head drops out of sadness.

"I'm sorry Al, I guess were in pieces aren't we." Metaphorically and physically.

Ed looked up to Al with a cheeky grin on his face, but that soon fell once he remembered that (Y/N) hadn't spoken for some time, they just sat there looking to the ground instantly. Ed slowly got up and walked to (Y/N). He sat down next to them and asked if they were ok, to no reply he got. He shook their shoulder to gain attention but no success. Roy soon noticed this unusual behaviour and walked over. He also tried gaining attention but soon noticed what was happening. When they're sad, she blocks everyone out of their world which includes non-responsive body language. Roy looked into (Y/N)'s eyes to see water building up behind the floodgates ready to burst. To sustain them from loosing and dignity from crying in front of the public eye, he picked them up and carried them to the car he arrived in. He sat them down and shut the door. Roy walked back over to the Elric brothers and told them what was going to happen.

"Because of this occurrence, both of you will be sent home to Resembool to get fixed and stay off the radar. You will obey my orders this time." Roy commanded. Ed couldn't deny anything the colonel said otherwise he could get into lots more trouble. He looked behind him to (Y/N) who was in the car, still as stiff as before.

"What about them."

Roy sighed. He didn't want to do this to them, but he had no choice.

"I will be taking them back to Lieutenant Colonel  Hughes ' establishment. After that, they will be joining you at the station tomorrow to Resembool."

Ed didn't answer but just nodded in response. Roy looked to Major Armstrong to take the boys back to their dorms at HQ. Roy went back to the car and drove (Y/N) to Maes' home. The journey was silent until (Y/N) spoke up.

"I heard what you said." They paused, " About me going to Resembool."

Roy didn't know how to answer at first but thought honesty was best.

"Yes, that's true."

(Y/N) didn't answer at first. They looked mortified, almost more scared than the events that had just occurred.

"I cannot go."

Roy instantly replied; "You're going. And that's not a statement, but an order."

"You don't understand," They took a break, trying to construct their sentences carefully but gave up. "I haven't told you and Hughes the whole truth about my past before I was found by Maes."

Roy looked intrigued by this. (Y/N) sighed.

"The reason why I was in Central alone that night, was because I'd just gotten off the train from Resembool."
