This story takes place in around 1770 something, and it's NOT a modern romance, so if you're one of those people who cannot appreciate old-fashioned-romance stuff and thinks its stupid, please don't read this and tell me that it's stupid. Anyways, if your NOT one of those people, then enjoy the story. :)

Alice POV

"Alice? Where are you?" Mary-Ann called.
I pulled at the edge of my skirt, trying to get it free from the cabinet door. I could hear Mary-Ann coming closer.
I yanked and yanked, and finally, my dress came free. I quickly jumped up and ran out of the room.
I couldn't let her find me! I'm the queen of hide-and-seek at St. Emma's Boarding School for Girls, and one ripped skirt wasn't going to stop me from keeping that title.I rushed into an empty bedroom and dover under the bed, just before Mary-Ann stepped in.
"Alice? I'll find you eventually. Just you wait and see." she giggled. I held my breath until, finally, she tromped out of the room.
"Alice. Alice!" Came a whisper from the closet. I peeked out of my hiding spot and crept over to the door.
"Yes? Who is it?" I whispered back.
"Me, Lizzy. Could you be so kind as to help me out, Alice. I'm stuck." Lizzy whispered. I squeaked the closet door open and pulled the tiny girl out. She sat on the floor and pushed her mess of curly brown hair out of her face. (Lizzy's pic: http://www.curly-hair-styles-magazine.com/images/natural-curly-hair-style-12.jpg ) she was small, but her features were more mature, and she somehow always looked older than the rest of us.
Lizzy and I sat in the bedroom until we could hear the laughter of other girls downstairs. Then, we snuck back down.
"Lizzy! Where on earth were you?" Mary-Ann demanded. I smiled and shrugged.
"I'm not tellng you, Mary-Ann. It wouldn't be a secret then, would it?" I giggled.

I smiled at the girls surrounding me.
