A middle aged woman stood behind the cooker, stirring a saucepan of pasta. A middle aged man was sat at the kitchen table making happy conversation with his wife as he sipped a warm mug of coffee. A teenage girl was sat on the floor playing with the family dog, attempting a few tricks here and there. It was the perfect family Sunday evening. Everything was normal, everyone was happy.
And after they had eaten their pasta for dinner, the family would go on a walk in the woods nearby the home just as they did every other Sunday.
The woman turned round and smiled at her family members.
"Dinner is ready." She began serving up the steaming pasta bolognese. Her husband and daughter thanked her as the family of 3 tucked into their dinner, the dog snuggled at the daughters feet.
The family eventually finished their dinner and after stacking their dirty plates in the dishwasher, they left the house with coats and the dog on a dog lead and headed towards the forest just like any other Sunday evening. The sun was just setting so it was slightly dark but not too dark. With happy conversations about anything and everything, the family entered the supposedly safe forest and begun their usual 20 minute Sunday walk.
Little did they know, they weren't alone in those woods that night."Jasper come back!" The exasperated voice of the daughter rung out through the mysteriously echoey Woods.
"Jasper?" Now the parents joined in, running after the runaway dog. The three talk quietly among themselves before agreeing to go separate ways. You might be thinking 'how stupid? Why would you all go separate ways in the dark cold woods?' But to them, the woods was the family's safe place.
The daughter stumbled upon the dog just as the wood was filled with shrieks and screams.
"AHHHHHHH!" A cold shiver ran down the young girls back. She knew who that was. It was her mother. Jasper safely on his lead, the two races towards the screams. Then another masculine yell came from the opposite direction. "AHHHH!" She didn't know what to do. Spinning round and round clutching her head in her clammy shaking hands, she wondered what to do. She didn't have her phone with her, even if she did there was no reception. She was too far into the woods to run back and get someone, it would be too late. But she didn't need to move anywhere. Her parents came to her. In the arms of two pale white tall men. They smiled before going over to the girl
"You go home. Tell the police and the hospital that your parents were murdered by someone, you don't know who, you were too late. That's all you know, all you remember." And that was the last she heard of these two men.Hello, thank you for reading the first
