Sorry i've been behind on my updates but I am trying to be better. I just have a lot going on. Anyways enjoy this chapter.
We blasted the music and sang along not caring if anyone would judge us.
I was hoping to see Dallas again while I was here but I wouldn't count on it. The city is pretty big.
I sat down on the couch. Kian came and lounged beside me.
"I bet we would throw a wicked party!" He exhaled slowly.
"Yeah." I replied.
"Here you look thirsty." He handed me his cup.
I looked at him and grabbed the cup from his hand.
"Thanks." I smiled.
It was getting later. Once we cleaned up we separated and spent the night doing different things. Sam went to a beach club to meet girls, Trevor was face timing his brother up in his room, Ricky was catching up on his sleep, Jc and Connor sat on the couch and watched Spongebob, Kian was doing something in his room, Jamie was updating her Twitter, and I was staring out the window that overlooked the beach up in my room.
The beach was beautiful at sunset. It really took your breath away. I heard a knock on the door that startled me. I turned and Kian creaked the door open and walk towards me as he buttoned up his shirt.
"Hey. You ok?" He asked.
Was he worried about me?
"Yeah. Just watching the sunset." I gestured towards the window and set my attention back on him.
"Well I was going to head down to the fair down at the pier. Wanna come?"
I looked out the window and down at the pier.
"Oh what the hell?!" I grabbed my white converse and we ran downstairs.
We snuck out of the house hoping no one would see us.
We were walking along the beach and the sand kept getting in my shoes so I decided to take them off and carry them.
"You seemed a little off tonight. You sure you're ok?" He asked once again.
"Im swell." I giggled.
I stared down at the sand and found a small seashell. I picked it up and threw it at Kian's face.
He put me in a headlock and messed up my hair.
"Ok ok truce?" I held out my hand.
"No promises."
We started walking along the pier and decided we would just walk around and look at what they had at the stands that surrounded the area.
Kian bumped into a girl about our age and made her spill her smoothie and dropped her purse.
"I am so sorry!" He helped her pick up the things that fell out of her purse.
"Oh it's ok!" She pronounced.
They stared into each others eyes for about 15 seconds before she introduced herself.
"Melissa. But you can call me Mel." She shook his hand.
"Kian. But you can call me anytime." He smiled.
I rolled my eyes in disgust.
"Oh is this your girlfriend?" She pointed at me.
"Oh her. No no no. Were neighbors. We are staying at a beach house for the summer."
"Sounds fun!" She smiled.
She grabbed a paper from her purse and began to write something down.
"Well if you ever want to hangout-" She paused to finish writing.
"Give me a call." She beamed.
"Oh I will!" He said as she walked off.
"You're a pig." I said sharply.
"What?" He chuckled.
"Nothing."
Was I jealous? I mean I know we are just friends but was it possible that I could have even the slightest feelings for him. It almost made me mad because I thought he felt the same towards me.
"Avery?" This boy turned around.
"Dallas right?" I walked closer.
"Yeah! Well how was your barbecue?"
"It was fun! Oh uh this is my friend Kian." I introduced him.
"Dallas! Nice to meet you." He shook Kian's hand.
"You too."
"Well we met at first by chance but the second time I'm gonna have to call it destiny-" He turned his attention back to me.
"Lunch tomorrow. You and me. There is this fantastic place just around the corner."
"Uh I don't know." I rubbed my neck.
"It's not a question. So what do you say?" He smiled.
"I thought it wasn't a question."
"Right well heres my number." He took out a pen and wrote on my hand.
"Well I have to get going but I look forward to tomorrow." Kian and I kept walking.
{KIAN'S POV}
Did she just agree to a date? I am at a loss for words. All I can think is about how much I care for her to be hurt. That's not the reason. It was something else.
"AVERY!" I almost shouted.
"God what?" She flinched.
"Sorry just thought I saw something." I made up an excuse.
I almost slipped and told her. I never thought I liked her this much but it is pretty obvious she doesn't feel the same way towards me. I don't think I could ever tell her.
