All of the sudden he sees something. He doesn't understand. He is conscious again. How could this be? Memories start to flood back into his mind. He remembers everything from his previous life. He remembers that he died.
"Guardian? Guardian? Eyes up Guardian. I can't believe it! You're alive!" Something says.
He looks around. He once again sees Earth and all it's beauty. But it all looks different. Run down. Abandoned.
"Where am I?" He asks the talking floating object who has just greeted him into life once more.
"Earth. The old Cosmodrome to be exact." The floating object responds.
"What are you?" He asks.
"I'm a Ghost. Well now I'm your Ghost. You are Geno Sumot. You probably already know that." His Ghost chirps. "Why am I alive again? What is going on?" He asks worriedly.
"Listen this place isn't 100 percent safe at the moment so I need to get you out of here as soon as possible." His Ghost exclaims. He hears animal like calls in the distance. He recognizes those war cries. Fallen. A barrage of bullets come from his west.
"RUN!" His Ghost yells.
He instinctively runs and finds cover. The barrage of weapon fire abruptly ends as the Fallen call out again. He hears rustling from the wreckage heading away from him.
"Those are Fallen. They still exist." His Ghost whispers.
He looks to his side and sees the cosmodrome wall
"It's our lucky day! That might have a low class jump ship inside." His Ghost chirps.
He trudges through the ivy covered entrances into a makeshift ship launcher. He sees a jump ship with three skeletons laying beneath it.
"They didn't escape..." his Ghost says sadly.
"All I'm worried about is getting the hell out of this Fallen infested place he says sternly. Though externally he is stern, internally he realizes how horrible the collapse was. He was only present for the beginning wars. Not for the death of innocent people. He hated the Fallen. Selfish hate driven creatures hellbent on destroying humanity to reclaim the Traveler. The Traveler left them because of their hateful ways.
"Lost in thought, Guardian?" his Ghost asks.
"Just get us out of here." he replies.
"Right away." his Ghost chirps.
They barely make it off the ground and fly away into the horizon. The trip to The City will be long and bumpy.
"I can see what you're thinking Geno, there's no point in keeping it to yourself." His Ghost chirps.
"I miss them all. Did they die in the battle?" He asks
"I think so. Only 3 people survived the House of Kings first attack." His Ghost replies solemnly.
The rest of the ride was quiet. Geno thought about Jacob and Marzia. He wondered if they had become "Guardians" too. Before he knew it, he arrived at The City.
"We're going to The Tower; It's where the Guardians live." His Ghost chirps excitedly.
