Yuno's POV:
"YUKI!!!" I yelled loudly. He'd found a way to slip out of my grasp and was now running away from me as fast as he could. Unfortunately for him, that meant paying less attention to what was going on around him and he tripped on the sidewalk. I had managed to get over to where he was just before he hit the ground and pulled him up into my loving embrace. He was shaking and crying, finally giving in to my love. I don't understand why he's so afraid of me. Can't he see I'm just trying to protect him?
"Yuki..?"
"Y-yeah, Yuno?" he said. My heart broke to hear the fear in his voice.
"Why are you afraid? I won't hurt you. I'm trying to protect you. I can't do that if you keep running away from me!"
"S-sorry..." He said. No, Yuki. I'M sorry. I've scared you with the overwhelming strength of my love. The extremes I go to to show you how I feel. I've been scaring you. I'm sorry...
"Yuki, if I let you go, do you promise me that you won't run off again?" I say, a slight sadness seeping out into my words. He nods in response and I let him go. As promised, he remained next to me.
"Yuki... I'm sorry..." I say, looking at the ground. He seemed surprised by my apology, so I continued. "I've been so selfish lately.... I'm scaring you... You're afraid of me... That was never what I wanted...."
"Yuno.... You don't need to apologize. I understand, really. I'm just not quite used to it yet." He said, and then smiled at me.
That smile means everything to me..
