They told me to stay. "We'll keep you safe." From what? I can't remember anything outside of their world I needed protection from. I stay inside my room at all times. It's safer, they keep reminding me. I'm not sure what I am supposed to be doing in here. Am I waiting for them to make everything safe? Am I supposed to be preparing myself for whatever is out there? I don't know how being held captive could prepare me. They must be trying to make it safer, I decide.
