Dennis' POV

I looked out over the blue ocean. The waves looked perfect for surfing. Just as I went to go to the edge of the ocean I slipped on some of the rocks and slid down the path I always take to the ocean, which isn't very steep. When I reached the bottom I noticed that I wasn't alone. There was a sketchy looking man standing next to a sketchy looking van. He looked right at me, and I looked right back at him. Then he walked over to me.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, I think so." I replied. Then out of nowhere I felt a blow to the head.

Carl's POV

Mike, Al, Brian, and I were waiting for Dennis to get back from surfing. He'd been gone awhile, and we started to worry about him.
"Maybe he drowned." Mike said out of nowhere.
"Dennis is a skilled surfer, Mike. He wouldn't drown." Brian said.
"Well then where the heck is he?"
"I don't know. Maybe he's talking up a girl."
"Let's just start practice. We don't exactly need Denny in order to practice." Al suggested.
"I'd prefer to practice with Dennis here." Brian said. I looked toward the door and noticed a note which must've been slipped under the door. I got up and picked it up. Our manager, Murray, took it from me.
"What is this?" he asked.
"We don't know. We were going to read it." I replied. Murry skimmed it.
"Oh shit." he said.
"What? What does it say?" Brian asked.
"Dennis has been kidnapped." Murry said. We looked at him in complete shock.
"Who would to take him?" Mike asked.
"Probably The Beatles." Murry replied.
"Whoa. That is stretching it. They don't need to take anyone to make it to the top of the charts. They're doing it all on their own." Mike said.
"Well then why has Dennis been kidnapped?" Murry asked. He seemed to be a little outraged by this.
"Did you piss anyone off lately?" Al asked in a joking manner.
"This is no time for jokes, Al." Brian said. He sounded like he was about to cry. I could see why. Our brother was missing.

Later that night I was with Mike and Brian watching tv. The show we were watching got interrupted by the news.
"Breaking news. Dennis Wilson, one of the Beach Boys, has gone missing. He was reported missing at around noon after he failed to show up for a recording session at the studio. If anyone has any information on Dennis, please contact your local police." I turned to Brian. He was in shock. I looked up at Mike. He looked like he was in shock too.
"Who leaked this?" Brian asked.
"Do you think maybe?" I started to ask.
"No. He wouldn't." Brian cut me off. "Why would he exploit the disappearance of his own son?"
"To get our songs to the top of the charts." Mike replied.
"Okay. I believe you." Brian said. He seemed stoned. Or high. Either way Brian didn't seem sober. Mike got up and paced in front of the tv.
"Why would Dennis go missing?" he asked. "Who would take him?"
"You don't think that dad has anything to do with this, do you?" I asked. I had to know. I had this feeling like maybe he did.
"It does sound like something Murry would do." Mike replied.
"No. No, dad wouldn't. Denny is his son. If it was me or Carl he wouldn't do this." Brian said. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it.
"But what if he did?" Mike asked.
"Let's not jump to conclusions." Brian replied.
"Brian, we're not saying Murray set up the kidnapping. We're just saying that he leaked it to the press." I said.
The door opened and Al came in.
"Guys, I think Murry leaked Dennis getting kidnapped to the press. I just overheard him talking to a press outlet." Al said. We all looked at him.
"Told you." Mike said. He looked at Brian with a small smile on his face. Brian responded by flipping Mike the bird.
"Wait, when did you overhear him talking to a press outlet? The story just ran on the news." I said.
"Just now. I swear Murry was talking to someone about Dennis." Al replied.
"Did you hear anything they said?" Mike asked.
"Guys, I'm going to bed." Brian said.
"I think so. Murry might've said that everything was going according to plan. What do you think that means?" Al said.
"I dunno, man. This is way too strange. Wait, maybe Dennis drowned." Mike said. "I hate to reuse the theory, but that seems way more possible."
"No it doesn't, Mike. You know Dennis. He's way too skilled a surfer to drown." I said a little too loudly. We heard footsteps and we stood still.
"Why do boys have to be so damn loud?" Murry's voice asked behind the door. "Boys, go to sleep. You have a very long day ahead of you."
Once Murry was gone we all looked at each other.
"Carl, maybe Dennis isn't dead, but if he's not then where the hell is he?" Mike asked.
"I don't know, but Murry wouldn't say that everything is going according to plan if one of us is dead." Mike nodded in agreement.
"What if we go out tomorrow and look for Denny? How about that?" Mike asked.
"That would be great. Only one problem." I replied.
"What's that?" Al asked.
"Murry." Brian pipped up.
