I took one last glance behind me into Adam's room and caught Jade's eye. She was looking at me strangely.
I didn't have time to wonder what that look meant. I just needed to leave.
I picked up my pace and whilst running down the hallway and stairs noticed that my little episode wasn't confined to just Adam's room, but to the rest of the house.
I could see small shards of glass on the floor below where there was once a light bulb on the ceiling. This pattern followed me as I made my way downstairs and into the passageway.
I could hear the shocked voices of both his mum and his sister and assumed that the same thing had happened where they were as well.
I reached the door and just as I was turning the handle ready to leave, I heard Mrs Davis calling me and could hear shuffling sounds from upstairs.
I turned round at her call, said a quick goodbye and made my exit from the house. I tried walking normally; fast, but normal so I wouldn't attract any more undue attention but I could feel a prickling sensation on the back of my neck. As if someone was staring at me.
I ignored the feeling and once I was round the corner from their house, I made a run for it.
It didn't matter that these shoes were killing me, I needed to get home. I knew that I hadn't gotten myself under control yet. I could feel the power bubbling under the surface and the sky was still covered with a huge grey cloud. The clear blue sky was still not back.
Within no time at all, I was back on my cul-de-sac but I didn't have time to see what my neighbours were up to. The grey cloud was following after me and expanding.
I reached my front door and had just grabbed the keys from my purse, when the front door suddenly opened.
I didn't have time to see that it was actually my mother opening the door before I was pulled into the house with the front door being locked behind me. I didn't even have the opportunity to question why I was jerked into the house before I felt something on the side of my neck.
I had a sudden feeling of calm wash over me before a wave of drowsiness made its presence known. I blinked to try and clear the fogginess, but the next minute I became aware that I was slowly falling to the floor. I could hear the faint sound of someone talking to me but the next moment I had blacked out.
******
As I slowly came round, I had a moment of panic, not realising where I was or what time it was. I blinked a few times to clear the residual confusion and let out a breath of relief when I realised I was in my room.
The relief didn't last too long as I remembered everything that had occurred earlier; going to Adam's house, walking in on him and Jade all over each other, losing control and letting loose some of my power, bolting it out of there to get to the safety of my home only to be knocked out by an unidentified person.
At this last thought I shot up in bed.
I really hope it was my mum but I wasn't taking any chances so I had a quick glance around my room to try and find some sort of weapon.
I really wished I did a useful sport like rounders instead of netball. At least I would have a decent weapon. I couldn't exactly go around carrying a netball and hoping I managed to throw it and hitting them hard enough that it would knock them out.
That was too risky and quite stupid.
A bat would have been much better. Too bad I didn't have one. I did have some surprises in store if it came to it.
