We all know the stereotype of kids that grow up in "the hood", the girls are "whores" and the guys are "gangsters". What if I told you, there are 3 sides to every story. In this one particularly there's the story the police and the media tell, then there's the story "the hood" tells, but what I'm here to show you today is that truth in the middle. I was maybe 6 or 7 but I remember vividly the corruption that used to occur, police in the parking lot everyday. Questioning us on things we had no idea about, bribing us. You think that's bad? For kids older than us it was much worse, searched for no reason, detained and beaten, profiled and chased down. Youth back then were groomed to become criminals, but don't get me wrong those youth and older men weren't always innocent! They would sit in the court yard, provoking the police department.
People houses being raided, police dogs, swat!
Eppleworth was a war zone. Not for long, the police successfully locked up our "older heads" for years which in turn caused a rebellion among our youth. Due to their lack of maturity, and inability to problem solve many of our youth were also locked up. Overall the police reached their goal of silencing the neighbourhood, but soon enough when those who watched all this happen. The innocent children will step up and take the places of their elders, it's a matter of months. When they do step up they will not only restore glory, but build an empire.
