Lyles POV.

Even in my dream the riddle floated about, it was haunting me more than Pennywise ever did, or ever will. It was twenty two lines of pure confusion and mystery. I sat up in my bed as I yawned before climbing out. I walked over to the wardrobe as I pulled out a large towel before walking to my bathroom. Instead of a relaxing bath I had to shower as in two hours I was being dragged out to the market and parade which happened each and every year in the next street over from us. It was a way of us celebrating our town but in all honesty I can't see anything worth celebrating.

I walked out of my room after drying my hair, putting on a bit of mascara, and pulling on a pair of dark blue ripped skinny jeans, a black vest top, and a black short sleeved kimono. I walked into the lounge with my black vans in my hand before sitting on the sofa, Odette was wearing black skinny jeans, a loose black t-shirt, a supernatural hoodie, and a pair of custom made converse which is what she does in most of her spare time, selling each pair for up to £600. I began pulling on my shoes as her phone pinged. I looked up at her in hope that it was Isabelle saying that she was cancelling but I was wrong. "Ivy and Denis are meeting us" she explained before beginning to reply as I smiled weakly. I didn't want to go. I wanted to lock myself in my room.

We walked out of the apartment and had a race down the stairs which I won, even if Odettes stubborn ass said I didn't. We both walked through the streets, slowly. People were standing in rows to try and get in certain shops, music was blaring, everyone smiling. It was a good atmosphere but it didn't seem right, this town is often quiet and mournful so for it to be like this when kids are going missing EVERY DAY, it was strange. I smiled at everyone as I walked past, Odette just behind me. We walked down to the end of the street before crossing to the lane next to the houses, the lane where the incident happened to Ivy.

No one was here yet so Odette and I stood as we people watched, spotting Isabelle in the distance. I rolled my eyes as she walked over in a black dress and knee high leather boots, a huge smile on her face. Don't get me wrong, I like Isabelle, it's just sometimes she is too happy and talkative. I was glad when she took all of Odettes attention though. I stood in the lane as I leaned against the wall, facing another. My eyes went out of focus which made me look like I was just staring at the bricks when reality my mind was racing.

"LYLE!" I heard getting called in the distance as I turned to Odette and Isabelle who looked none the wiser, both of them talking about the usual rubbish. I shook my head as I realised I must be hearing things before something wrapped around my legs. I looked down slowly not knowing what to expect as I saw brown hair. "Hey, little man" I smiled before crouching down and picking him up. "He has been excited to see you" Ivy smiled as she walked over, hand in hand with Denis who nodded as a greeting before smiling at his nephew who was happily sitting in my arms.

After talking to them both for a while and James interrupting many times it was time for us to go closer to the road so we could watch the parade. I kept James in my arms so he was high enough to see everything. The first thing to go past was the local school, all of them doing different tricks or carrying banners. Then there was a large dragon, obviously multiple people underneath to move it. James smiled so widely as he watched everything go by, absolutely falling in love with the large dogs that walked past, all of them wearing a top hat.

We watched the parade come to an end as a small car drove up the centre of the road, a clown on top of it as he waved to everyone. Isabelle and Odette walked away due to Odettes fear as Ivy, Denis, James and I remained. He suddenly stopped the car as he got up, pressing his nose at it released a horn sound, making James laugh which the clown noticed as he walked over to us. "Press my nose, I dare ya" he put on his weirdest voice as James reached out, one small finger pushing the nose as the noise went off yet again, James giggling uncontrollably as I just stared at the clown, lost in the white paint which was beginning to come off due to the sweat.
