Playin' Around & Changing Songs
__________________________________"With knives and pens we made our plight," Perry sang, almost sceamed, in my ear.
"I'm not okay," Zander's squeaky voice cheered from my other side.
Ridley jumped up from behind me, her hands on my shoulders, "Haven't you heard of closing a g*ddamn door, no! "
"Guys, why are we screaming?" I screamed back at them and laughed.
We were walking out of the school when they started with the song stuff again.
"Come on, you know you love screaming famous lyrics from famous songs," Ridley told me before she attempted to jump on Zander's back, surprising him.
"Gosh, you're getting heavy," Zander's told her.
She smacked him on the side of the head playfully and we all laughed.
"Go, doggo, go!" Ridley screeched.
"I'm not a dog," Zander told her, dropping her to the ground.
I could sense people staring at us, which didn't make me nervous. They didn't seem to notice or care so why should I?
Plus, we were having more fun than everyone else here.
Before I realized it, Zander came at me and threw me over is back.
I couldn't stop the laughs as I tried to get off him.
"What're you trying to do?"Zander laughed as Ridley, with messy hair, tried to get around him.
"I'm trying to help you," she laughed.
"What?" I shrieked.
She made her way around Zander and started to tickle me.
I giggled uncontrollably until Zander moved in her way.
I spotted something and came up with a plan, surprised I could do anything with the blood rushing to my head.
"Are these pickles?" I asked, pulling his underwear and giving him a wedgie.
He shrieked and set me on the ground, hurrying to fix the wedgie I'd given him.
I settled my laugh as I looked around as my giggles ended, "Where's Perry?"
Zander and Ridley both looked around at the crowded school grounds.
"What, where did he go?" Ridley wondered aloud.
A sudden outburst of chanting and laughing came over the crowd and we each noticed.
I rushed through the crowd, towards the chants, with Zander and Ridley straight behind me.
"What're you going to do you little faggot?" A voice laughed.
I pushed through the last layer of the crowd to the clearing of the fight.
I saw him, Carter, standing within the crowd. He was standing, looking down at Perry, right up until he locked eyes with me.
I looked down and saw Perry crouched on the ground with blood dripping from his mouth.
A gasp came behind me as Ridley and Zander had caught up.
I almost fell down as I sat beside Perry.
"Perry-" I went to touch his shoulder and he flinched.
He's frightened.
The crowd was silent now.
He was crying.
Perry never had cried. Never.
