Samantha's pov
As I was about to walk into homeroom, I heard someone call out my name. "Samantha!" Without even looking, I knew exactly who was shouting my name. Eddy. Ugh, what does he want? I rather go to Mr. Nixon's class and that's not a good thing. I thought.
I felt a tap on my shoulder, already knowing who it is. I took a deep breath and turned around to face him. "What do you want? Shouldn't you be in chemistry class?" I asked already annoyed.
He was breathing pretty hard, so I guess he had ran towards me. As soon as he caught his breath, he then spoke. "Yes, but can I talk to you?" He asked me. "In private?" He added.
I rolled my eyes as the bell ringed. "Sure. Whatever." I told him.
He grabbed my hand and led the way to our destination. It was an empty classroom. Stupid health teacher. Why couldn't she do her lesson inside? 'Cause so far, I don't trust him with me being in an empty room with him. He might rape me. "Okay, how do I say this?" He asked more to himself then to me. I took out my cranberry juice I packed in my lunch box this morning, and started drinking it. "I'm gay." He said flatly. Right when I heard that, I dropped my cranberry juice and started choking. "Are you okay?" He asked. I started to cough. Really? Your ass is just gonna stand there while I cough to death?! I thought. "Samantha, are you okay?" He asked me, again.
Oh my God. Is this bitch being serious right now?! I thought a little mad. "No! I'm standing here coughing and you're not doing shit!" I yelled at him.
Eddy looked down to the ground in shame. "I'm sorry." He said in a whisper.
I stopped coughing and picked up my juice from the ground. I went over to the sink and grabbed some paper towals. Eddy followed behind me and did the same, helping me clean up the juice. "I don't understand." I said to him, confused.
He looked up at me. "You don't understand what?" He asked.
When we were done cleaning up the last of the juice, we threw away the napkins and started talking. "Well, if you're gay, then why did you ask me out?" I asked curiously.
He took a second to think about it then spoke. "It's kind of a long story. Well, sort of." He said thinking about it.
I crossed my arms staring at him intently. "I'm listening." I told him, interested.
He took a deep breath. "Alright. Earlier last week after school. My football teammates and I were at the mall. At one point they were hitting on some girls and they noticed I wasn't." He paused for a moment. "Then one of them asked me 'how come the past four years you've been here, you never had a girlfriend? Are you a faggot or something'?" He paused again, then continued. "When he said that everyone laughed at me. So I told them I had a girlfriend, and I said that we just don't show that much affection in public." He took another deep breath. "He then asked me 'who?' And I panicked and said your name. You know, because of our past together. That's why I was persistent on getting you to go out with me." He concluded his explanation.
I stood there trying to process everything he just told me. It all makes sense now. "So, why didn't you tell me from the start?" I asked curiously.
"Because I knew if I had told you, you would have faked that you liked me, more than you're faking now." He explained.
Wow, people are smart these days. It was also kind of true anyways. I really didn't like him like I use to. "That makes sense. I see where you're coming from." But there was still one question on my mind. "How did you know I was pretending to like you?" I asked a bit curious.
He then smiled. "I could tell how easily annoyed you are when you see me." He explained.
Lord, I'm terrible. I thought about it for a while and decided to tell him a little secret. "Well, just so you know, I was cheating on you with someone else. Well, actually they knew I was dating you publicly, but I was just dating them secretly." I informed him.
He crossed his arms and looked at me as if he were intrigued in what I was saying. "With who?" Eddy finally asked.
I took a deep breath. "Well, see it's kind of a long story." I answered him.
His eyebrows shot up and he then had a huge grin on his face. "I'm listening."
