Here it is! the big day...Enjoy

It was finally time to get my prosthetic leg. Mum and Adam had come home and all of my friends left. Ryan and his dad were going to be there and I was terrified. All those questions from before were spinning around in my head making me feel sick to my stomach. The car journey was quiet. I was sat in the back next to Adam who was holding onto my hand and mum was driving.

We arrived and now I was completely unsure if I could have it. But I knew it would be for the better, I could walk and run again. I could play football again. It could go back to how it all was.

But It couldn't. Ruby wasn't here, Dad wasn't here. I'd lost friends.

But if this hadn't of happened I would have never met all my friends who now mean the world to me, I would have never met Ryan.

I got out of the car and Adam passed me my crutches. We made our way to Dr Paige's office. We waited for twenty minutes until Dr Paige and Ryan walked in. Ryan's soft brain hair was a bit scruffy and his blue eyes shined brightly when he looked at me, showing me one of his beautiful smiles that I loved so much.

"well are we all ready?" Dr Paige asked and I nodded a small smile forming on my face. He opened the door again and pulled in a large box. My nerves skyrocketed and my stomach was going to leap out of my mouth.

He opened the box and inside was my new leg. That sounded completely weird to say that. It's a challenging thing to experience going through such a big change. You must adapt to it so quickly, which is extremely challenging. You must learn how to do things you never thought you would. Some benefits would be that I only have to buy one shoe I suppose.

Everything that has happened over the last six months have been leading down to this moment. I looked up at my brother. His smile was so bright and genuine and you could see the tears forming in his eyes. I looked over at my mother and you could tell that her smile wasn't real. It was completely fake. Like none of this even mattered to her. I was angry, but mostly upset. But I wasn't going to let her ruin this life changing moment.

Ryan took the leg out of the box and walked over to me. His smile made my nerves fly away. Luckily I was wearing shorts today so it was easy for my new leg to be put on. They put the straps around my real top half of my leg. The prosthetic leg then locked into place against my real leg.

In the first few seconds of having it on it felt weird and very awkward. I wanted to rip it off. But then when I moved my leg it moved with it. It felt like it was supposed to be there.

It felt like I had my real leg back.

I looked up at Ryan and smiled as a few tears started sliding down my pink cheeks.

"do you want to stand up?" Dr Paige asked as I slowly glanced up at him. I nodded in reply. I was too in shock to answer him. They put that Zimmerframe in front of my and after a few failed attempts I finally stood up. it was a tremendous feeling. I felt like a human being again.

"how does it feel?" Adam asked.

"amazing" I whispered as my voice was wobbling. He stood up instantly and engulfed me in a hug. I looked over at my mum and she was scrolling through facebook on her phone. And to be honest, I didn't care. Adam glanced at my mum and shooked his head at her.

"leave" he said firmly towards my mum. She looked up completely confused.

"what?" she said in a dangerous tone.

"I said leave, you don't care about any of this, so I want you to pack your bags and leave" Adam replied, his tone even more dangerous than my mothers.

"how dare yo-" she began but was cut off my Dr Paige.

"the Boy is correct, please leave the building". She looked completely shocked. She looked over at me expecting me to say something but I never did. She huffed ad stormed out.

For some odd reason I was relieved that she had left. I was shaking holding the zimmer frame. Dr Paige coughed gently and I looked up at him.

"would you like to let go?" Ryan asked before his father could, making me smile. I nodded as Ryan slowly took the zimmer frame away. And I left to stand... on my own two feet. That sounds so strange to me.

After a few minutes of wobbling I had finally stopped.

I was standing up, on two feet. A smile formed on my face. I finally felt like my life could carry on again.
