Sitting in the bar, I couldn't help but laugh loudly as I watched Axl's clueless expressions. Though the expression on his face was normally a clueless one twenty-four seven. Setting my almost empty beer on the counter, I took a deep breath and moved my gaze to look at Mike. "So, is there something going on today?" I questioned the older man
"No, why do you ask?" Mike hummed, shaking his head ever so slightly. Quickly, I picked my beer up and took another sip from the bottle. "Ty just asked me to meet him here; and I just didn't know if there was like a Johnson family reason or just because this is your bar." I shrugged my shoulders ever so slightly. Mike seemed like he was going to say something else after that, but before he could open his mouth a loud crashing noise came from the door way.
Olaf came stumbling in, Ingrid came along behind him, and then behind her was Anders and....my Aunt Helen?
"Amery! I wasn't expecting to see you here." My aunt exclaimed, seeming genuinely surprised to see me sitting at the bar. Granted, I hadn't been expecting to see her here either. "Nor I you." I muttered, turning my entire body around to face her.
Pushing herself away from Anders, she made her way over to me and placed both of her hands on the sides of my cheeks. "I wasn't expecting to see you until your twenty-first in a few days!" She squealed, I could smell the alcohol on her breath. I couldn't exactly say that it was too early for her to be drinking, because I'm sitting here having a few drinks myself.
"Wait a minute, you two are related?" Mike asked, pointing between the two of us. Feeling proud of this fact, Helen wrapped her arms around my shoulders and pulled me close to her before nodding her head.
The next thing I knew, Olaf was standing very close to my face, with his eyes squinted. "I didn't see it before." He mumbled so softly, I almost didn't hear him. Before anyone else could say anything, Ty came walking into the bar. He froze when he saw how close Helen and Olaf was standing to me. "Uh, what's going on?" He chuckled slightly.
"Ty!" Helen immediately smiled, looking at my boyfriend. I couldn't help but be confused as I looked between the two of them. "Helen, hi." Ty breathed out. Que even more confusion.
"Oh-ho this is going to be awkward, I love it. " Anders laughed, clapping his hands together. "You two know each other?" Ty asked, motioning to the fact that Helen still had her arm wrapped around my shoulders. "Oh! Helen is actually, my aunt. " I confessed, once more another wave of confusion crashed over me as I saw Ty's face drop.
"I thought you didn't have any sisters?" Anders asked, suddenly looking like a pouting puppy. "Amery, I thought you told us you were adopted?" Mike questioned, now joining the conversation.
"Oh, I am adopted. My parents died in some freak accident when i was about six or seven, so I was put up for adoption. It was an open adoption so Aunt Helen and I stayed in touch." I explained with a slightly shrug of my shoulders. Immediately upon hearing my response, all of the Johnson boys looked at each other like some kind of secret was being shared between all of them.
"So does she know?" Ty asked, looking at Helen. His words made everyone turn to look at me with the same curious gaze in their eyes.
"Do I know that you are Hod, and that my aunt is Idunn; and that in two days time I will turn twenty-one and I myself will become a goddess myself? Yes, I know." I smirked, once more taking a sip of my drink.
