I reread the text, not believing what it said.

Bryce: I was going to tell you in person, but I just need to say... somebody ate all the cheesepuffs.

(Haha just kidding. You didn't really think that was the actual text, right? 😏)

Bryce: I was going to tell you in person but I just need to get this off my chest. I know we just met recently but I think I like you.

I rubbed my temple. I didn't know what to say. My mind was saying that I couldn't like him because I just met him, but my gut said I did.

My fingers hesitated over the keys before I started typing.

Cass: I really appreciate you telling me this. I do realize we just met, but I think I might like you too. I'm just a little hesitant because I'm not sure we know each other well enough.

Bryce: Hold on a sec. I'm coming over.

I put my phone down and a knock sounded on the door a second later. I opened it and let him in. The others were still in the other room watching the movie, so we were alone.

We both sat down on my bed. He took a deep breath and stated, "I understand that we might not know each other that well, but that doesn't mean we can't. I'm not saying we have to be boyfriend/girlfriend, I just want to get to know you more."

Oh my word, he was so hot when he was nervous. Wait, did I say that? I meant nice. Yeah. Nice.

I nodded. "Yeah, that is something I would be willing to do. You're not weirded out by our age difference?"

He shook his head. "Are you?"

It was my turn to shake my head. "I mean, at least I'm not 13- wait 11."

"Ohhhh, shade has been thrown," Bryce chuckled. "Anyway, we have a couple of hours before the show tommorow. We could probably sneak away and do something. Would you like to?"

I smiled. "That sounds like fun." Bryce smiled back, got up, and left my room.

I couldn't believe that Bryce Hall liked me.

----------------

The next morning I got up early so as to avoid all the girls in my room. I managed to put on my outfit without waking anyone up. It was a red and white striped t-shirt crop top, black jean shorts, and red high top converse. I had curled my hair and braided a crown around the top.

I had just carefully closed the door and was about to walk down the hall when something made me freeze in place. "Where are you going?"

I turned around and smiled nervously at Ariel. "Uh, I was just going to get breakfast."

Ella, who was with Ariel, looked st me skeptically. "By yourself? And if that is true, then why do you look like your sneaking out?"

At this very moment, the door to Bryce, Cole, Mikey, and Matthew's room opened. We stared as Bryce shimmied out the barely open door and shut it quietly. He turned around and his gaze met us. "Oh sh-"

"Oh my gosh!" Ariel squealed. "Are you guys going on a date?!"

"No, it's not like that." I protested.

Ella looked at Ariel. "They need a ship name. Cryce?"

Bryce looked back at the door nervously. "Guys, can you please be a little quieter? We don't-"

"BRASSIDY!" The two girls screamed, apparently making their decision.

With this exclamtion, the doors to all 4 rooms opened.

"What is going on out here?" Aaron asked, annoyance evident in his voice.

"Honestly," Liza huffed.

Ariel was practically bouncing up and down. "Bryce and Cass are going on a date!"

Cam's eyes widened. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold up. I did not approve this."

Hunter smirked. "Bryce. Gettin' some."

I turned around and smacked him upside the head. "You say that again, and you'll be gettin' some broken teeth," I threatened.

"Is this actually happening?" Maisie asked.

"No," Bryce answered. "We're just hanging out. This is not a date."

Matthew snorted. "Sure it is." All the guys agreed.

"Oh my word," I stated, exasperated. "Bryce and I are leaving now." I started walking away with Bryce but did not get very far.

"I don't think so," Cam responded, grabbing the back of my shirt and pulling me backwards

------------

Long story short, I was now seated at a table in a breakfast cafe called "Another Broken Egg" with Bryce. And Cam. Yes. Cam was there. For 'supervision'.

"So what are you guys getting?" Cam asked, setting his menu down and smiling.

I glared at him. "Annoyed."

He smiled. " Just remember, if this isn't a date, like you said, you shouldn't be bothered by this."

Bryce scoffed. "Well, we are."

"Yeah," I added. "We were trying to get to know each other, not you. I already know you more than I need to."

"Fine, fine." Cam relented. "I'll leave. But on one condition."

"What is it? Tell us now," Bryce commanded, eager for Cam to leave.

He stared me straight in the eye. "Do. Not. Kiss. Or hold hands. Or hug. Or make eye contact. Or get closer than 5 feet. Or-"

Bryce cut him off. "First of all the was not one thing, that was like five. Second of all, we promise not to do any of those things. Except the eye contact."

"Fine," Cam agreed. "Just remember, I've got eyes everywhere." We nodded and he started to walk out. When he got to the door, he stopped, and whipped his head around. He did the 'I'm watching you' fingers and left.

I rolled my eyes. "Cam is so annoying," I stated.

At this exact moment I got a text. I looked down at my phone and read it.

Cam: I heard that 😑

I showed Bryce. "That's a little creepy." He admitted. I nodded.

I had a great time with Bryce. We ate breakfast, then went to the mall and rode around in the little car shopping carts until we got in trouble by security and were told to leave.

Then breaking one or Cam's most important rules, we sat next to each other in the back of an uber on the way to the show venue.

As we rode back, I smiled to myself. Bryce was a great guy and he seemed genuine and sweet. Maybe this thing with him would turn into something.
