Chapter 25

Shraddha's POV

Suddenly I see it moving. "Sidharth what the hell is this?!" I back away a little scared.

"Why are you so grumpy? Open it properly."

"I'm just not in the mood okay Yaar! Alia has annoyed me by not being here." I roll my eyes.

"Just open the present!" Jacqueline Di exclaims.

I open it and someone jumps out of it.

I scream.

"Happy Birthday Best Friend!!" Alia exclaims.

"What the- I nearly had a heart attack Yaar!" I shout.

She hugs me. But I don't hug her back.

"I'm here do you really think I'd miss your birthday?" She asks.

"I wouldn't have ever talked to you if you didn't come Yaar!"

"Ok come with me Shraddhu Ladoo." She says.

"Alu the par-"

"Shh just come with me."

Valia, Varia and Ayesha come along.

We get into Alia's car and she makes me wear a blind fold.

"Alu I'm scared" I say. "Am I getting kidnapped?"

"Shush."

She then takes me somewhere. We reach there and she takes the blind fold off.

We're in our old apartment.

"Omg!" I exclaim. "It's still the same yaar!"

"You said we should come back and visit. So I thought I could bring you." She smiles.

"Mum where are we?" Ayesha asks.

"This is where me and Alia Masi lived." I say.

"With Papa and Va-"

"No it was just me and Alia Masi at first."

We go into Alia's room.

"This was my bedroom." Alia says.

Alia looks at me and laughs. "Remember when we used to have late nights out and you always ended up sleeping in my room?"

"I'd always be in your room when we had late nights." I laugh.

The girls look around they then go to what used to be my bedroom. "This was mine."

"We used to have our movie nights in here. I have so many memories in this room." I smile.

Alia coughs. "Including sneaking Sidharth in at night." She raises her eyebrow at me. "Yeah I knew about it the whole time. I just didn't say anything."

"Eww what the hell mum!" Ayesha says.

"Hey! If it wasn't for those sneaky trips you wouldn't be born." I say.

Ayesha looks at me in terror and then gags.

"Eww I will never look at you 2 the same!" She says.

"Well come on Ayesh you knew it." I say.

"No! I thought I came from the birds!"

"Whoever told you that?!" Me and Alia say in shock.

"Birdy Masi!"

"Who else?" I say with a sigh.

"Well umm let me show you the kitchen girls." Alia says and we all follow her to the kitchen.

"We had our daily routine: Batuklal's pancakes for breakfast, Alu's salad for lunch and my curry for dinner!" I say.

"Mmm which ones could you make Shraddha Masi!" Valia asks.

"Omg Valia you're such a fatty all you think about is food!" Varia says.

"She isn't a fatty she just has her mum's appetite! Alu used to die if she hadn't have her daily dose of spice! And yeah Valu I can make chicken curry, paneer, kebab curry, dhal, moong curry and more."

"Mmm! Could you make something now!"

"Umm I don't have any ingredients. I haven't been in this place for ages."

"Tomorrow us 5 girls are gping to come and clean this place out. But for now lets get going before the boys go mad." Alia says and we all go.

When we go back the hall is more decorated with love heart balloons everywhere and heart confetti everywhere. There's red ribbons.

"Shraddha?" Sidharth steps into the spot light. "I love you."

And then red heart confetti sprinkles all over me.

Sidharth then pulls out a mini guitar and starts singing "Oh Oh Jaane Jaana."

"I love you Shraddha. Happy Birthday!"

I run upto him on stage and hug him.

"You're so sweet yaar!" I say.

I then see Birdy from the corner of my eye miserably sloping off.

I decide to go after her and see her crying on the stairs.

"Birdy?" I say.

"Oh Shraddhi! Didn't expect to see you here."

"This is our party." I say.

"Your party. Nothing is about me. I'm not jealous but you got a surprise present, a song, loads of gifts. Nobody even wished me." She says with a tear streaming down her face.

"You may think I'm cuckoo Shraddhi but I have feelings." She says.

"Oh Sun!" I say and hug her and she doesn't correct me.

"You haven't called me Sun for years!" She says.

"Well you changed your nickname to birdy!"

"Remember at school when everyone had to say any of their special requests at school in year 3; so you asked if everyone could call me Birdy? And then this fat boy stared calling me birdbrain so you went up to him at lunchtime and kicked him so hard he had a big bruise?" She says.

"Of course I remember." I say.

"Remember in secondary, everyone started call me Shraadhaa instead of Shraddha so you made them repeat  Shraddha 100 times in form time?" I say.

"Oh yeah!"

"I'll always have your back Sun. And you'll always have mine." I say and we hug.

"Now wipe your tears there are surprises for you aswell."

"Me? Really?"

"Yes! Now come on!"

What surprise is in store for Birdy? Do you guys feel sorry for her?
