"Yo! Will! I'm home!" I kick the door open, making a bang so loud that he must hear it, no matter where he is. My friends follow close, throwing their bags on the floor and kicking off their shoes. As we walk into the kitchen, Will comes walking from his room in the opposite direction. "Glad to see you too, 'lex. How was school?" I throw my bag up the stairs, causing a bang as it hits the wall. "Fine, like usual. I didn't murder anyone. How was your day? Got to kick anyones butt? You didn't burn the couch, I hope?" Will smiles, taking a pan out of the stove as he invites my friends to sit down around the table. He serves us warm lasagna as he tells us about how he had to stop a robber at the shop today. He tells us that it wasn't a big problem, as he quickly caught the guy. The thief was sent to the police, and the day passed without any further events.
"Wow, you seem busy, William." Leo mumbles between the lasagna. Will laughs, his black eyes shining. They look like polished obsidian, and I know I have the same eyes. I have been told it is a trait of our family, just like the Crimsons have one red eye, and the Black family has emerald green eyes. "No, Leonardo, not really. It is just that sometimes someone stirs up a fuzz, and it just happens to be today. It isn't that normal. Usually I just stand there in my uniform, trying to look dangerous." He laughs again, before taking another bite of lasagna. Leo laughs, too, and continues to scoop more food onto his plate. Everyone else keeps talking about other stuff, not really caring what the two guys are talking about. Because really, what is interesting about work? After dinner, we decide on what we are going to do. «Hands up if we should start the levitatipn ASAP. All the hands in the room, including my brother's, shoot in the air. I laugh. «Easy decision, then. Let's get into the living room.» We all move into said living room, the now infamous couch standing in front of the tv. "I've never tried anything this big," Leo is scratching at the back of his head. "Are we supposed to do it alone?" I nod, eyeing the couch up and down. I have never tried levitating anything this size before either, and if I were to guess, I would say it weighs about 300 pounds. I am not really sure, though. Amethyst straightens her back, cracking the knuckles in her finger joints. "Well, let's try!It cannot be that different from telekinesis?" Leo shakes his head. "Those are two different things. Telekinesis is a different type of magic." Amethyst puffs, taking a stance. "We'll see about that, redhead." She waves her hands at the couch, eyes focused on the spellcasting. Mages today usually don't use words, as it is unnecessary. Most prefer to be silent, but some prefer words. It all depends. The four of us watch in anticipation as the couch slowly lifts itself from the ground.
