----------------------------------

Chapter 1:

"Ash, wake up." A voice called from downstairs. Groaning from the sudden wake up call, I groggily trudged to the kitchen where I assumed where the voice originated. Rubbing some of the sleep from my eyes, I realized that my whole family was dressed and ready, whereas I was in my penguin onesie and messy hair.

"What's the occasion?" I yawned and tried to sort out the bat's nest of hair, but failed and gave up. The four of the were all sitting at the kitchen table; my sister, whom is home for Christmas break, was on her phone, my brother on his tablet, my dad on his phone, and my mom was talking to our dog. Shaking my head at my mom, I waited for an answer.

"We're going out to breakfast as a family." My dad explained, not once looking up from his Samsung Galaxy S4. Rolling my eyes at their anti-social ways, I walked up the stairs to get dressed.

Seeing as the only way I would be able to tame the mess that I call hair would be by water, I decided it would be less work to just get a shower. What? I'm lazy.

Stripping from my warm pajamas, the cold January air hit me like a truck and I ran to the bathroom that was directly next to my room. How convenient. Turning on the warm water, I brushed my teeth as the water warmed up causing the bathroom to steam up. I figured it had enough time to warm up and got in the shower and washed everything and I was feeling special today, so I even shaved! Brownie points for me.

With my striped towel secured around my body, I walked back to my room and cursed as I realized I hadn't gotten clothes before I bathed. Taking the walk of shame, I made my way to the basement where my huge mount of clothes were in a basket and overfilling. So that's why I have hardly any clothes in my room...maybe I should put them away? Yeah, no.

Grabbing a reasonably decent outfit, I ran up the stairs and nearly lost my towel on the way, but luckily, my ninja moves prevented it. Slipping on a pair of underwear and a bra, I put on a light grey camisole, light wash skinny jeans, and a deep red sweatshirt. After spraying my perfume all over my body, I was finally ready to leave.

Speedily walking down the stairs, I found my family in the same positions they were when I left. Rolling my eyes, I clapped loudly, obviously scaring all of them. But when they realized it was only me, each of them walked down to the foyer where the closet was were we kept our jackets. Once we were all assembled in our winter gear, we packed into my dad's Ford Escape and made our way to a local diner.

Our food had just gotten dispersed to my family and like usual, I ordered the most. With a meal consisting of a Belgian waffle, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and apple juice, I was ready to dig in and obviously so was my brother, but my dad stopped us. "Before we eat, there's a reason why your mother and I decided to go out for breakfast." He said and I looked at my mom questioning, but she just had a big, mocking grin on her face.

"Ash," Dad said and handed me an envelope. Well, if we're out for breakfast it has to be something good...

Taking the envelope from his hand, I stared at it for a little bit. It was addressed to me, but nothing else was on it except for a return address, but I didn't recognize the address so it was no use. "Are you gonna open it or not, stupid?" Emily sighed from her spot beside my mom. I looked up from the letter and saw my family watching me anxiously.

It was then that I realized something. The envelope looked as if it were already opened so I looked over at my mom and dad. "Did one of you open it already?" I asked my dad and he made a face.

"Yeah..." He trailed off and I laughed lightly before opening the letter. Grabbing the sheet of paper packed inside the envelope, my eyes scanned over the typing. Once I had gotten far enough, my eyed widened and my mouth dropped in shock. Not to mention I had nearly dropped the paper itself.

"What does it say?!" My brother shouted and tried to snatch the paper away from me, but my dad, whom I was sitting next to, swatted his hand away.

"I-I..." I tried to say, but the shock was getting the best of me. "I'm..." I couldn't put the news into words. "I'M GOING TO MAGCON!" I screamed, making the whole diner turn towards our table, but none of my family cared.

"MagCon?" Emily asked, confused.

"That convention where all of the YouTubers and Viners go to! It's a few weeks long and all of the well-known viners go and oh my god, I'm going!" I shouted and practically shoved the note into her face.

"Wait, you're going as like...a viner?" She looked shocked after she had read my invitation letter. Nodding excitedly, she looked a bit taken back. "It says here that it's for two months. That's two months out of school." She smirked at me, knowing that mom and dad will most likely not let me go because of school.

My face fell. "I forgot about that..." Dropping my gaze to the floor, I didn't bother to look up. "Guess I'm not going." I sighed and took my expanders case out of my bag before removing the top one and the bottom one and putting them off to the side.

"Oh but you are." My mom said and my head snapped up and my eyes went wide again. I noticed that she had her phone up as if she were taking a picture. But the flash was one...

Shit, she's filming my reaction! Just like she did on Christmas when I got my One Direction tickets! Oh c'mon.

"I am?!" I shouted again and almost flew out of my seat. My mom and dad both nodded and I swear at that time, I felt like I was walking on water.

I'm going to MagCon 2014
