Sakura x Naruto: Get Up (part 2)

The long walk it took Kakashi and Naruto to get back to the Leaf wasn't enough time for them to begin to comprehend what had happened on that terrible day. Once back in the village, Naruto was greeted by his comrades.

"Nice to see you three." Shino murmured.

"Hey, Naruto, what's u-" Kiba stopped and looked around and then into Naruto's puffy red eyes and his tear stained face. "Where's Sakura?" He asked. Naruto just kept walking forward to Lady Hokage's mansion, Kakashi followed quietly behind.

The bustling noise of the village seemed to be quieter, a faint whisper. The bright colors of various buildings, gardens, and people seemed to have faded into a bland gray. Konoha wasn't the same without Sakura. He wasn't the same without Sakura.

After two small knocks on the Hokage's office door, her muffled voice was heard on the other side it.

"Enter." The two men entered, somber looks on their faces.

"Is everything alright? Was the mission successful?" Tsunade asked. Naruto made a faint whimper, signaling the tears that began falling down his cheeks and onto the wood floors.

"We failed. The mission was not a success." Kakashi looked the hokage into her eyes, he was clearly keeping details from her.

"Where is Sakura? Is she alright?" She began to raise her voice. Many emotions and feelings mixed into the air: sadness, anger, confusion. In that very moment, a realization came upon Tsunade: Sakura is dead. Naruto let out a strong sob and stormed out of the office, then out of mansion, out into the unknowing streets.

"Sakura Haruno is dead, M'lady." Kakashi spoke up.
