I fretted over the encounter with Zayn the whole bus ride home. He noticed me, and now I had given him a reason to show interest. Why didn't I just have acted natural and left at a normal pace? God, I'm so stupid.

"Perrie," Jade interupted my chain of thought.

"Yeah?" I responded.

"What was that whole thing with Zayn about? Do you not like your last period anymore? History to lame for you now? I mean it's just not like you to run out of the class," she said.

I thought over it for a second. A second turned into a minute, and I knew I had to answer. "Well, sometimes history can be boring, but I still think it's alright. It's just him, Zayn. He sits next to me," I awkwardly mumbled.

"You don't like Zayn?"

Jeez, Jade's interrogation unnerved me. How do I answer? Do I say yes and be done with him or say no and live with the consequnces? My heart made the decision for me, and I found myself mumbling, "It's not that. I like him as a person, but he makes me feel uncomfortably nervous."

"Oh I get it now. You like him. Oh my God, this is so exciting. In all the years I've known you, I've never seen you like some one," Jade giggled.

What have I gotten myself into? I rolled my eyes, and Jade giggled but dropped the subject. I could always trust Jade to be polite and respect your space; a trait that lingers from the past, from the good old days. We got off at our stop in silence and continued home the same way until Jade asked one last question, "Are you staying at my place again or going home?"

"I have to go home tonight or my stepmother will totally freak out," I sighed. Jade only nodded in understanding before turning into her drive way.
