1st period was gym. Our coach, Coach Scotty, calls us darling or precious, which I find quite annoying and strange. Gym is my 2nd favorite class, it’s where I can show more of what I can actually do and blow off some steam. Today I took my anger out on some poor new kid from down south. During our football game I knocked him flat. In the locker room after class one of Johns stalker chicks asked me about him and nearly wet herself when i glared at her.

2nd period is my favorite class drama with Mrs. Hansen. She is a crazy, wild and not afraid of being weird or different from everyone. I had that class with Alice, Sylvia, Lexus, and Nick. Today we were working on our section Finals and we could have 3 partners. So I worked with Alice, Sylvia, and Nick.

“Okay guys what’s our scene about?” Alice asked smiling. She and Sylvia love drama as much as I do.

“Ummm… I don’t know, Sylvia?” I said turning towards her.

“How about a scene where a guy” she gestured to Nick “is dating 3 girls,” gesture to all three of us, “and they find out, confront him, and break up with him. It’s just an idea, we can add stuff and change it how we need or whatever.” She said grinning, clearly proud.

“Yes! That is a great idea we should totally… Anabel are you okay? You look kind of pale.” Alice was suddenly worried over me. I was not okay. I felt like I was going to vomit.

“I’m fine. That’s a good idea Sylvia let’s do it.” I said, while trying to be supportive.

“Anabel didn’t you tell them?” Nick asked.

“Tell us what?” They said in unison.

“That John was cheating on me.” I answered, ashamed.

They went white as sheets “With who?” Alice asked anger turning her more and more red.

“It doesn’t matt ...” Nick interjected clearing his thought.

I sighed “Lexus.”  I said as the bell rang. Picking up my bag and jetting out the door but the girls caught up with me at my locker. I told them I didn’t want to talk about it and to my surprise they didn’t ask about it anymore.

After that was our break time. A half hour of nothing, today Alice and Sylvia wanted to go to the movie which would be totally cool with me if my ex-boyfriend wasn’t there every day, but they wanted to so whatever. We saw John and sat on the other side of the auditorium. The movie turned out to be our least favorite movie ever, Twilight. So we stood up and left.

After we left we went outside and sat on the hill behind the school. I lay on the back lawn enjoying the warmth the sun gave, smiling slightly.

I was not looking forward to 3rd period. Don’t get me wrong I love shop and the teacher is awesome… But John was in that class. I sat all class knowing that he was working on his project 2 desks back and 1 desk over. The bell rang and to my relief Flare was waiting outside the door to walk with me to our next class.

She was one of my best friends she had lived at the orphanage with me, along with her sisters Christa and Lexus. She had been dropped there when her parents disappeared. Her aunt had adopted her and her sisters 7 months ago and promised to try to get me adopted by someone she knew.

“So it’s true, John was cheating on you? With my sister?” Flare asked in shock with a touch of sympathy.

I looked at her and said after a sigh “Word travels fast around here, doesn’t it?”

Her eyes widened as if she were hoping it was a roomer “Oh My God.” Then with more anger “Oh My God! I can’t believe her! I swear I’m going to.” She paused searching for a word then said “I can’t believe she did this! God! I’m so stupid!” she sighed.

I looked at her in confusion “What are you talking about? You aren’t stupid, you couldn’t have known. It’s not like you’re an abilitist! They are just legend, like seeing the future.”

She looked down “I should have… I saw…” she sighed “I should have told you. I’ve seen them together a lot lately. At Loo Loo’s during lunch, late at night he’d bring her home, he would come over for movie night without you and sit by her, close to her, and more. At first I thought I was imagining it but now.” She trailed off.

I stopped dead in my tracks and turned slowly to her “How long has this been going on?” I said calmly.

She winced “Um, I don’t know a month maybe two.” she looked at me tears welling up in her innocent blue eyes, “Anabel I am so sorry that this happened, I could have said something. Done something instead I kept my stupid little mouth to myself! I am so stupid!”

I stopped in my tracks and pushed her into the janitor’s closet, “This isn’t your fault!” I said holding her against the door. “So stop blaming yourself, got it?” I exclaimed at her. “I would never forgive myself for letting you blame yourself; stop blaming yourself for everything! Everyone else will let you; not me. Everyone else needs to take the blame for their own shit; stop taking the blame!”

“Anabel,” she said then burst into tears, “Oh Anabel I’m so confused! I can’t handle it anymore!” she took in a deep breath that shook her fragile body.

“Its okay, calm down Flare.” I said; awkwardly patting her shoulder having released her.

She gasped for air, “Okay.”; she took a second to compose herself then stood up straight and smiled at me, “Thank you Anabel.”

“No problem… Hey, do you have your notes for the English test? Cuz if you don’t, I am screwed.” I said, laughing as we left the janitors closet. She smiled and pulled out the large white packet, “You are a life saver, Flare.”  I said giving her a hug as we walked into English.
