~Alexi's pov~

The feeling of hot breathe on your face is not a fun one. Especially when it comes with a side of something wet yucky and sticky with it.
Just as I thought those two things I sprung up off the ground as if it was on fire. I hurriedly scooted back until my back hit something hard. I look back to see it was a just a tree. Wait! A tree?
Quickly spinning my head in every direction I looked around at my surroundings just as the memories of yesterday started to make an appearance of themselves. I remember being told about myself. I still couldn't get a grip on those thoughts. right after those thoughts flew through my head, the agonizing painful ones of yesterday's shift into a wold sprung into my mind. I shivered at the memories of that horrid experience.
Remembering how I woke up this morning I frantically started searching the meadow in front of me. My eyes came upon a panther sitting in the exact spot next to where I was just laying down. The fear I felt got stuck in my throat as I tried to scream, but then I toke a closer look at this panther. Its fur was a pitch black with silver stars at the base of her spin where her tail meets, and also some one her paws, with also another silver filled in star between her eyes. Her eyes are what stunned me the most. A white galaxy was staring into my soul.
Something inside me clicked, saying that this was my were-cat. I slowly stood into my feet.
"Hello there kitty, my names Alexi."
I spoke much more calmly than I felt. It gave of a purr that I was pretty sure was suppose to be a chuckle.
'Hello kitten my name is Shayleen and darling I am not a kitty I am much older than any of humans on this earth. I am your were-cat sweetheart. You know what it means when I come out right?' Shayleen questioned.
"Yes mam, I sure do. It means that my next shift should be coming soon am I right?" I said more like a question than a statement.
' Yes honey. You are right but it will be about 2 hours before you start shifting. Giving us plenty of enough time to get you to place where you need to be. And before you ask any questions, go quickly run behind the tree where you hid your clothes and put them on. Then when you get done come out and hop onto my back, so we can leave this place and get to where we are heading on time. Now go quickly!' She finished in a rush.
Quickly dashing behind the trees I took out my clothes I was wearing yesterday. I saw that I was wearing baggy black joggers and a white v neck t-shirt, with white vans. I slid them on and ran out into the meadow and climbed onto Shayleens back. As soon as I was comfortable, she took off in a run heading in the direction of what I believed to be south. As time passed she started to add more speed until she was in a dead sprint. The wind being to cold and too fast, I ducked my head into her soft coat.
As she jumped and climbed gracefully over logs, rocks, and streams, she started slowing down after about 30 minutes. Slowly, I raised my head from between her shoulder blades and saw that we were heading up the side of a mountain that was covered almost every where with towering pine trees and soft moss. After about another twenty minutes, we came to a cliff that had a small cave entrance on the mountains face. The cliff was overlooking a small town that was in the distance. I got a feeling from my gut saying that I have seen this town before. That I have been here before. I felt something tugging in my head but nothing happened. Disappointed and confused I turned around to see that Shayleen was watching me closely.
"What?" I said confused, "do I have something on my face?"
'No honey you don't I am just wondering what you are thinking. You were lost in your thoughts for about 5 minutes just standing there.'She commented.
"Nothing " I said as I turned back around."Just looking around here. It looks beautiful..." I whispered. I just stood there staring out across the land at everything.
After about another 20 minutes of just standing there, I was startled out of my thoughts. 'Elspeth you need to go into the cave and get ready for the shift. It is starting soon....' Ellie's voice trailed off. "Okay." I simply replied.
I️ turned around and tried to be as quiet as possible as I entered the cave. It wasn't that big but it was big enough to fit a whole family of bears. The walls were super smooth and when the sunlight darted across its surface it glowed and looked as if it was moving. As if it was alive.
Slowly stripping down to nothing this time. I continued to soak in everything to memory about this cave, every little detail. As I finished I walked to the center and knelt down sitting on my hands and knees like before. As I was waiting for it to start , Shayleen explained a few things to me. One, is that since I already shifted once, shifting shouldn't physically hurt me anymore. Two, is that I am one of a kind hybrid. Three, is that I can shift into any type of feline animal not just a panther but more.
Before she could continue on explaining what she was about to say. I let out an ear piercing scream so loud it echoed for several minutes off the cave walls. I️n turn it made the whole mountain side go quiet. The only pain I felt was mental agony because of all my partners awakening at the same time making everything extremely sensitive. The pain seemed to have improved my senses by 50. As soon as the pain left I felt that my body had already shifted. I don't know what type of feline animal though. So I walked over to the watering whole that was near the back of the cave and looked into the reflecting water, using it as a mirrior.
I couldn't see Shayleen anymore so I️ peered into the water mirror and I saw that I was the panther I️ saw earlier. My panther looked fascinating.
But soon my eyelids started to get heavy. So I walked over to my clothes and shifted back by thinking of being human once more but one-thing that was difficult was that I don't remember what I look like either except that I am skinny and that I have a farmers tan. I put on my clothes that I had been wearing for the last day and a half. As I walked out of the cave to lay down on a comfy patch of moss. I felt as if I was being watched. The feeling continued to stay with me for about another 30 minutes before I started to get irritated. I sat up and turned my head in ever direction scanning the woods that where bellow.
Suddenly I felt a something zoom past my leg and looked and saw a tranquilizer dart. "Shit!!!" I screeched. Before I could do anything else I felt another one fly by my arm. And as soon as I felt that. I was out of there in less than a heart beat.
I started sprinting towards the town I remember seeing from above, while leaping and sliding down the mountain side I was on. Hearing more and more darts fly by my head I booked it even faster, gasping for breathe. The pounding on the earths surface grew louder and closer by each passing minute. Panic started to set in my brain making me run even harder than I have ever before.
Soon the small towns lights came into view making me push faster and harder. I was right on the outskirts of town when I saw a man walking a few feet away from me. I started screaming at the top of my lungs for help. My lungs felt as if they where going to burst. The man spun around so fast that I was shocked he didn't get whiplash. His face carried a look of surprise, panic, and confusion.
As soon as I looked into his eyes I felt something hit me in my thigh making me scream in pain. The pain was to much. As my knees buckled underneath me the world started to spin into darkness. The last thing I saw was the man from the town running towards me with a look of rage with a deadly glare that could put someone six feet under. Then suddenly I blacked out to the voices of my partners telling me to try to hold on, to not let go.
