Prologue

Maddie and Alyssa are twins. For their whole lives, dance has been the most important thing. Since it is so important to them, the girls are homeschooled so they can dance. When they were 9 years old, Maddie and Alyssa tried out for their dance school's competition team. They made the team. They were so excited, but they got a little nervous when they found out that they didn't know any of the other girls.

Lindsay, Elle, and Shannon have been best friends since kindergarten. They first met when they were 2 in ballet class, then met up again in school. They were all still dancing and never thought of stopping. Lindsay has dark red hair and brown eyes. Elle has blonde hair and blue eyes. Shannon is a brunette with green eyes. Shannon is very tall, but Elle and Lindsay are not. The girls tried out for the competition team at Expressions Dance Studio. When they found out that all three of them made it, they could not wait to start.

Jenna Conrad was also 9 years old when she tried out, and made the competition team at Expressions Dance Studio. Unlike all of the other girls on the team, Jenna didn't try out with any siblings or friends. In fact, Jenna was an only child. Also, Jenna was bullied at school. She had no friends. Jenna wanted to give up on life before the competition team. Jenna decided to give life one more chance by dancing.
