Locked away in the security of her bed-chamber, Sigyn sat on the side of her bed, scribbling away in her journal, completely lost in her own thoughts. It had almost been three years since she lost her mother, and to this day, she is still struggling to be without her.  There was a certain numbness that enveloped Sigyn, a longing for happiness that was impossible to achieve by herself. All of her life, she had been surrounded by darkness, and death. Her mind was extremely complex, and she had yet to find another person with whom she could identify with since her mother passed.

Sigyn brushed strands of hair behind her ear and closing her journal, she set it back on her night stand. The sky was beginning to turn a dark blue hue, as the light slowly slipped away. She let out a small sigh and smoothed out her dress. There was a loud knock on her door that startled her.

"Come in!" She yelled, quietly.

"Sigyn, my daughter! You look exceedingly beautiful." Sigyn's father beamed at her. General Althalos Cassius, General of the army of Asgard and the right hand of the Allfather, and father to Sigyn Althaloson.

Sigyn managed to smile back at him.

"Are you ready to leave? The celebrations are beginning to take place. I'm sure the royal family is eager to meet you." Althalos was in a hurry to get downstairs to the great hall, but Sigyn was not. She was anxious, and her face was pale, paler than usual.

Sigyn took the arm that her father offered her, and they began their walk to the Great Celebration Hall of the Palace. There were four guards standing by the entrance of the Hall, and the sounds of people laughing and talking were faintly audible outside of the door. "General Althalos, Lady Sigyn", the guards nodded at them and they opened the doors. A few people turned their heads to see who was entering, some men admiring Sigyn, and some of Althalos' friends coming over to greet him.

Sigyn is a beautiful girl, her frame is petite, she is about five feet and six inches tall, with bleach blonde hair and captivating blue eyes. Her face is defined, and she has a lovely smile that she rarely shows. She is beautiful, but strong, she is the finest archer in all of Asgard, and quite the warrior as well. She was to join Prince Thor, Prince Loki, Lady Sif and the Warriors Three in their battles.

Althalos chatted with some of his friends, and Sigyn said hello to them when they greeted her. He pulled Sigyn through the crowd, towards the royal family, and she was growing uneasy.

"Come Sigyn, they are eager to meet you." Her father could tell she was growing more and more anxious every second.

Thor and Loki were chatting amongst themselves, they seemed to be deep in discussion. Frigga immediately stood up and clasped her hands over her mouth when she saw Althalos and Sigyn approaching. She slowly walked down the steps towards them. "Althalos! She is so tall, so beautiful! I have not seen you in years, dear!" Frigga reached for Sigyns hands and gave them a friendly squeeze. Sigyn smiled a half smile with her lips at the Queen.

"Come, come!" Frigga motioned for Sigyn and her father to join the royal family.

Odin and Althalos began talking, and there was no breaking those two up when they were talking. They have known each other since they were just boys, and they are great friends.

"My dear, I would like you to meet my sons, Thor, and Loki." Frigga grabbed Sigyns hand and pulled her over to her sons.

Loki was the first to realize that Frigga was approaching them, and he turned to see who she had brought along with her. He was surprised to see Sigyn, and he found her quite captivating.

"And who is this mother?" Thor asked with a large smile, reaching out for Sigyn's hand.

"I am Sigyn Althaloson, it is a pleasure to meet you." Sigyn said timidly to Thor and he kissed her hand, making her blush.

"I have heard much about you Lady Sigyn." She turned to see Loki, who had a grin on his face.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Prince Loki." Sigyn curtsied towards him and he didn't take his eyes off of her. "She is the one who will be joining you in your training, and eventually battles" Frigga smiled at her sons and placed a hand on my back. Thor had a questioning look on his face, and Loki had a slight look of confusement.

Sigyn noticed their expressions and felt embarrassed. "I am an archer. My father has also taught me much." She said this confidently to them, and Loki nodded at her, acknowledging her strength. "I look forward to getting to know you Sigyn." Loki kissed her hand, just a bit longer than Thor did. His touch was different, it was crisper, it was more electric in the way his skin felt upon hers.

Frigga smiled at them and walked away, presumably towards Odin and Althalos, whom were still talking. Just as Frigga left, a brown haired girl who was about the same height as Sigyn came up to Thor with a smile on her face. "Jane! My darling Jane!" Thor picked her up in an embrace and he became enveloped in her presence. Loki moved towards Sigyn, he was interested in her, there was something unordinary about her, she did not tick like an ordinary clock. They stood side by side, watching as the lovers embraced each other, and kissed, and laughed.

"Is she...mortal?" Sigyn half whispered, and Loki looked at her. "How can you tell?" Loki looked at Sigyn's eyes, they were so bright, so completely innocent. "Her eyes, they're.. very different than any I've ever seen" she looked to Loki. "Yes, she is mortal, I cannot understand... why my brother lets himself open his heart to a life so short. This day, the next, a hundred years and she may be gone, its barely anything, it's pain for him that will shortly come." Loki furrowed his eyebrows.

Sigyn thought about this, and he was indeed right, her life is much shorter than Thor's, and if he truly does love her, it will be painful for him to see her die in a short while. "I cannot understand it either, but he has found love, something I suppose I envy greatly" Sigyn paused and looked to the ground, and Loki looked to her confused. She met his eyes, his magnificent emerald eyes, that were unlike any she had ever seen. He could not understand how a woman like her could not already be wed to someone, Loki was completely confused by Sigyn, she was so strange.

Sigyn noticed him looking at her and it made her cheeks turn a bright crimson shade. There was no doubt she found him extremely attractive, but he was a prince, and surely he had a wife already. "Do you enjoy reading, Sigyn?" Loki asked her.

"I love books, in fact I may spend a bit too much time reading." He smiled at her and she laughed. Sigyn felt a hand upon her shoulder and she turned to see her father.

"It would be best if I take you back to your chambers now, my daughter. The hour is growing late." Althalos spoke quickly. Sigyn nodded but Loki began to speak. "I can take her back, it is no problem."

Her father nodded hesitantly. "Thank you, my prince." Althalos said goodbye to everyone and left.

"You really don't have to walk me back, it's alright" Sigyn smiled and tried to assure Loki. "Please, allow me." He offered her his arm and she hesitantly accepted it. They talked the whole way back to Sigyn's bedchambers, and the walked seemed awfully short to both of them. They wished they could spend more time with each other, but it was late. They reached Sigyn's door and stopped.

"Goodnight Lady Sigyn, I hope to see you very soon." He kissed her hand again. "Goodnight Prince Loki and thank you for walking me back here, it was nice to talk with you." She smiled and they parted ways.

There was something about Sigyn that made Loki want to be beside her, she drew his interest in a way most women are incapable of. He desired to know her, and she truly did want to know him more than anyone else she had ever met.
