"Niall..?" Lilac whispered, poking her head around a tree to not find a Niall. She yelled, "Come out, come out, wherever you are!" Lilac giggled and walked across her backyard, onto a wet stone pathway that led to her younger sister's trampoline. She poked her head up in the opening of the trampoline and slowly crawled on, slithering her way underneath Niall's arm, "I found you."

Niall smiled and nuzzled his nose into Lilac's hair, planting a soft kiss to her head. "You sure did, lovely."

Lilac sighed happily and looked up at the sky, cradling her hand in Niall's. Lilac was a good girl, who lived with her dad and her little sister, Maddi, in a big house in a quiet neighborhood. School wasn't a problem for her. Straight A's, good conduct. That's what all her dad wanted for her. She wanted to grow up and live with Niall while working as a nurse in the city's hospital. Three children were in mind, but nothing too serious right now. Her friends pestered her about when Niall and her were going to get "settled". Lilac shook her head and muffled a laugh. Her friends were great. Always pulling jokes and making each other laugh. Lilac placed a soft kiss into Niall's palm and rested his hand on her chest. Niall pulled her into him more and relaxed to the feeling of Lilac's steady heartbeat. He sighed uneasily and looked up at the sky. Gray and dull; like the way Niall's eyes had start to become. It was unusual. Niall's spunky blue eyes were turning a light blue and towards a gray. Every time Niall woke up and looked in his bathroom mirror with his toothbrush in his mouth, he always looked right into his eyes. He noticed their change, but never thought about it so much. "Lilac?" Niall whispered into his girlfriend's hair. "Baby, do you still wanna go to the fair with Blaire and Louis?"

Lilac sighed and laid her head on Niall's chest and looked into his gray-blue eyes. She furrowed her eyebrows, "Why aren't your eyes blue today?"

"You didn't answer my question."

Lilac sat up and stretched her arms, yawning, "Louis is bad. I don't like him."

Niall wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her back into him, smiling, "and why would you think that, darling?"

"Dunno. Smokes weed, drinks, goes to strip clubs. Honestly, Blaire could do better. I don't know why the- sorry. I don't understand why she doesn't dump him and just date Harry. I mean, you can obviously tell Harry likes her."

Niall frowned, "don't be sorry, but don't talk shit like that about Louis. He's my friend you know."

Lilac sighed, obviously frustrated and stood up on the trampoline, "when you start smoking weed, don't expect to come to my house anymore."

"Someone's being a negative Nancy today."

"Okay, annoying Adam."

"That wasn't even a good comeback."

"Shut the fuck up."

Niall gasped, aghast. "Did Lilac Grace Pipper just swear?"

Lilac looked over at Niall and hid a smirk, "you angered me."

Niall chuckled and grabbed Lilac's ankle, tripping her. She let out a scream and collided with Niall. She turned around so she looked into his misty eyes and laughed, pecking a soft kiss onto Niall's waiting lips. "I hope you know, Lilac, I wouldn't smoke. It's bad for you."

"Really? I didn't know, sorry."

Niall snickered and dropped a short and sweet kiss onto Lilac's lips, "you're adorable when you're sarcastic."

Lilac nuzzled her head into Niall's neck, "don't you already think I'm adorable?"

"But you're cuter when you're mean."

"Mean? I'm not mean."

Niall muffled a giggle and tossed Lilac onto the trampoline, "okay mean Mal."

Lilac threw her head back and laughed, "these names are so dumb."

"You know you love them," Niall said, starting to jump on the trampoline. Lilac looked at Niall and bit her lip, smiling. He held out his hands and she took them starting to dance to his mumbled humming. They both shared a chuckle and a laugh and ended up tangled in each others arms. Lilac pulled Niall closer and Niall did the same, murmuring I love you's and You're beautiful's into Lilac's ear. Maddi, singing her favorite Justin Bieber song, skipped down the rocks that led to the trampoline, unfortunately, catching the two lovebirds in mid make-out. Maddi scrunched up her nose and whined, "ewie, Lilac. Do that somewhere else."

Lilac and Niall blushing as they pulled away, laughed together and stepped out of the trampoline. "What do you need, Maddi? Is dad home?" Lilac asked, picking up her little sister, holding her on her hip.

Maddi popped her thumb in her mouth, "Daddy doesn't want Ni-Ni here."

Niall frowned and stuffed his hands in his pockets; eyes going even more gray. Lilac turned to Niall and  softly kissed his lips, "see you tonight if I can get out of the house, yeah?"

Niall glared at her dad's car, shaking his head. Niall was a good boy. He did as he was told, didn't do any drugs or anything like that. He was careful with Lilac. He didn't let anyone hurt her or let anyone bug her. Why couldn't Mr. Pipper like him? Was Niall a "bad influence"? Niall's eyes turned misty as he turned back to Lilac, "yeah."

Lilac smiled, watching Niall descend down her driveway; her smile slowly fading as he got farther and farther away from her. Lilac put down Maddi and trapped her hand in hers and started towards the house. "Wanna bake some cookies, Mads?"

"Yes!" Maddi laughed, her so called, "blankie" trailing behind her. Lilac opened the sliding glass door to the inside of their house and let go of Maddi's hand, to let her roam free throughout the large house. Lilac entered the kitchen and turned on the sink, running her hands under the warm water. The water burning her skin, but she didn't take notice of it as she stared blankly out the window. These were her thinking moments; where she would think about the day or what had happened that day. She re-thought all the things she could have said but didn't say, and all the things she could have done, but didn't do. Her thinking was interrupted as the sink got shut off, "you're going to burn yourself, Lilac."

Lilac grabbed the towel next to her, looking up at her dad as she dried her hands. "It wasn't that hot, Dad."

Her dad chuckled and sat down at the island, picking up the remote and flipped on ESPN. "How was your day with Mr. Horan?"

Lilac glared over at her father, "why are you even asking me? Maddi said you didn't even want him here."

"Did he peer pressure you to do anything?"

She rolled her eyes and huffed, "no, Dad."

"Where are you going tonight?"

"Just out with some friends," She spoke in an annoyed tone, her eyes rolling at almost anything her dad said.

"Who?" Her dad threw down his newspaper, "you're not going if you and Niall are hanging around that Louis kid."

Lilac's face held shock; she had to lie, just to get out of the house. "N..No. Of course not."

Mr. Pipper looked over at the stove clock, reading; 6:34. "Well, you better get ready now, you wouldn't wanna miss being with Niall."

Lilac smiled big, hugging her father tightly, "I love you, I love you, I love you!"

Mr. Pipper rolled his eyes, "yeah, yeah. Now shoo."

Lilac gladly accepted and hurried to her bedroom, throwing clothes everywhere, trying to find her phone to pick out an outfit with Blaire.
