One More Narcissistic Author's Note, Brought to you by Ruka.
This idea just came to me one night, when I was thinking about the people in my life. Most of my guy best friends, who I've known since I was 8, have turned into obnoxious, cocky jerks. When they look at a girl, they judge her by her looks, her body, the way she dresses, her accent, her skin tone... And how much ever I keep explaining to them that personality is what really counts, they always brush me away for 'sprouting lines from chick flicks'. Whatever. When they eventually end up getting cheated on, heart broken or are forced to break a heart due to the girl's insanity... They do not learn their lesson. What can I say? Boys will be boys.
This isn't a story about my loser friends, don't worry. This is a story addressed mainly to the female Wattpad population. I've noticed many stories around here that have been taking up really disturbing themes. But I'll be politically correct here and kick my personal biases out of the way.
I've been stumbling across a large number of stories which go along these lines: First, the girl is ugly, plain and fat. So she's rejected by the society she belongs to, be it her pack or high school. In distress, she disappears for a few months, and then returns beautified. A tall, thin, beautiful blonde, usually.
I agree, there are a lot of underlying themes and messages to it, but let's address the most apparent, naked and dancing-around-in-circles one.
You have been beautified. To the society's messed up notions of beauty.
This story is about what you should really want your Prince Charming to be like, girls. To love you completely, even if you aren't famous, thin and beautiful.
This story is for you, whether you're thin or fat, dark or fair, a dog person or a cat person, a blonde or a brunette, African or Australian, British accent or American...
You are beautiful.
This isn't a self help book. I can't make you realize how beautiful you are.
I just want to tell you a story.
A story about how a Prince Charming found his Princess.
And how he fell so truly, madly and deeply in love with her, that it wouldn't have made a difference if she was even the Princess of Ogres.
Metaphor aside, this isn't a Fantasy.
I hope you enjoy it, loves.
